  1. That's what I did this morning. It was great, weather was hot, the Trumpet performed brilliantly. Had cod and large chips for lunch. Needed this ride to get my enthusiasm back and it worked. Can't wait to get out again!
  2. Bender, I get that you are a supporter of the government and a defender of Brexit. However, I disagree. I think the problem is the current government imposing austerity on the workforce that most needed financial support, while boosting the bonuses and profits of its donors. They hate the working classes, always have, always will. Why are they surprised when the working classes rise up and ask for more? Why aren't we rioting about the billions wasted on PPE and a not fit for purpose track and trace system? Or that the fuel/energy companies that are laughing at us while raking the profits in and enjoying the benefits? This government have taken everybody for mugs. The worst affected are those who believed that Johnson was somehow a capable PM and Brexit was a good idea...but they won't admit it. The first question you have to ask yourself when a Tory policy is implemented is 'what is in it for them?' Not enough people have, They've had you all for fools.
  3. ... and let's be honest here. Railway workers striking for more pay isn't the most anger invoking thing for the public these days, it's this: https://www.theguardian.com/business/live/2022/jul/28/shell-profits-record-households-cost-of-living-us-economy-gdp-business-live?filterKeyEvents=false&page=with:block-62e2459d8f081e9f3bd21d82#block-62e2459d8f081e9f3bd21d82 Supported by the Tory government who are shit scared to impose sanctions on big business and banks as they donate massively to the Tory party. If this was a third world country, we'd be screaming corruption. Instead, we're sucking it up and the more we do, they'll inflict more damage.
  4. Support them totally. Predictably really as I'm a lefty socialist, grew up in a North East mining community in the 70s/80s and saw the effects of the unions being attacked by Herr Thatcher and the devastation of communities following the miners strike. I'm as red as they come and support the unions wholeheartedly. We live in a different world these days, the country is split by Brexit, an incompetent, self serving, Tory government (I'm flabbergasted that people are still surprised) and a right wing media who are intent in causing division and hatred. That's a lot to go up against for the unions and their members. But the fight goes on. Getting decent pay and conditions is a right and people protesting for the same is also a right in a democracy. Good luck to them. f**k the Tories.
  5. Dropped to £1.75 at my local yesterday, a tankful for me has gone from £30 to £25 in a month.
  6. Well, I'm looking forward to it I might even post a few pictures if I get the time.
  7. Did the same with my old K1200S in Luxembourg. Nightmare and heart-breaking as it falls over. Got into the habit of putting it into first gear when parking after that.
  8. Bucket of water, some car wash shampoo and a sponge. Cold water rinse before and after then microfibre cloths to dry off. If I can be arsed, Mr Sheen for a shine. Done that for years.
  9. I’ve got the 60l version of that bag. It’s been tested in some torrential downpours and holds up well. I use it mainly for camping gear.
  10. Had to be careful taking it off, I used a hairdryer. If you're worried, I'd go with your original idea. Don't want to be responsible for any mishaps!
  11. If you want to go cheaper, good old gaffa tape applied to the bodywork where the panniers make contact works just as well. Worked for me in the past
  12. Unlikely to result in any prosecutions because the 'evidence' has to be 100% bona fide to prosecute. Also, the CPS has to consider whether a case is in the interest of the public to proceed. Unlikely in most cases.
  13. I think that's wonderful mate. I wouldn't about the conditions, it's going to be far, far better than what they have experienced in Ukraine.
  14. Remember that Putin does not actually press the button, he'd have to command others to do that, and I hope they wouldn't follow those orders. If Putin gets taken out, there might be others who believe his warped ideology and harm the West. His whole administration would need to be killed.
  15. What I'm finding disgusting is the 'process' implemented by Patel for refugees wanting sanctuary in the UK. I'm embarrassed to be English following the governments response to people fleeing for their lives compared to the rest of Europe. I don't know why I'm surprised, considering the past few years this shower of shite have been in power.
  16. Nice. Been looking at Delkevic for my ST 1050. From the videos I've seen they sound flippin' awesome.
  17. Time to say goodbye to the BMW and hello to the Triumph. Picked this up for a great price, needs nothing, ready to tour.
  18. I'm willing to bet that Special Forces/SAS are in Ukraine if not already across the border in Russia. With the technology available they know exactly where Putin is and I also bet there is a plan to eliminate him if he goes too far. I'm hoping that somebody near to him has been influenced to do the job themselves.

    Storm Eunice

My bike cover blew off. I retrieved it and it's back on now. Phew.
  20. I'm still with CN, they did me a good deal last year after I called them with the cheapest quote I could find online. Also, they honoured my NCB after a break of 2.5 years which was really helpful., other companies wouldn't even consider it. Threw in UK/EU breakdown too. The excess on my current policy is really low too. MCE were a bugger for offering very cheap quotes with huge excesses.
  21. Try Rhinowalk luggage which are copies of the Kriega system but much cheaper. I've heard good things about them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rhinowalk-Pannier-Multifunctional-Waterproof-Motorcycle/dp/B08HVNZKPF/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2X8O2U67CMZ40&keywords=motorcycle+luggage&qid=1644846766&s=automotive&sprefix=motorcycle+lu%2Cautomotive%2C80&sr=1-6
