1. Hoggs will come if we promise her booze. Watch this: Hoggs : you're coming to the rally. There will be booze.
2. Don't know if I'll be able to swing it, but I'll do my best to come up for the Saturday lunch and perhaps stay for the ride in the afternoon. Is that allowed in the rules Stu ?
3. So I stopped for a sandwich at the Fovant Badges last night, and, while chomping away on my ham and salad, seemed to remember that it was one of the challenge spots. So out came the phone I took this http://i.imgur.com/vp9455y.png But I forgot my #77 So I've a favour to ask: can I score this for 10 points? Or perhaps even just 5, seeing as the number is missing? Or do I get zilch? Bummer of it is that the number was in the top box that you can see in the photo.
4. Yup, that would be great. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
5. Really sorry to hear your news Oasis.
6. Another top tip. Thanks.

Problems

I've only got silly questions to offer: enough fuel in the tank? is the fuel supply switch off?
8. So one question to ask yourself is, if you've not been involved in the group for a while, even though lately you've had the time available to do so, then why would you want to devote the time to being its chairman?
9. I'd start with the earplugs, and try to get the most effective I could. Look up the dB rating to be sure. I looked into moulded ear plugs a few months ago, and if I remember right, they don't give much noise benefit over off the shelf ones. If the earplugs don't solve the problem on their own, then look at a helmet upgrade as well. As a general rule, if you want a quieter helmet, you have to pay for it. But it doesn't follow that if you buy an expensive helmet, it will be quiet. So you'll need to read the reviews carefully before you go down that route.
10. Oh dear. This thread went downhill soooo quickly.
11. Oh bad luck . Hopefully mended soon.
12. Wassup Maws? Did I miss something?
13. Nice write up mate. Nice bike, in the fastest colour too.
14. Brendan is on the ball on this one. When the video is put together, the examiners mark out a small window of time from the period when then the hazard is developing, and you have to get a click into that time slot to score. A click done too soon scores nothing, and one that's too late - well that's obvious. And to stop you just clicking randomly, too many clicks and you get 0 points. If you're an experienced driver then you're probably spotting the hazards quickly and clicking before the time window has started. So the trick is to make a second click one second after your first, and you're chance of hitting the window is a lot higher. But just one extra click, no more, to avoid getting disqualified for too many clicks.
15. Great pics - I really like the one with the clouds halfway down the hillside.
16. Nice one HJC make really good helmets - don't have any worries about that.
17. I like that it's at the with an "é". Posh.
18. My tip would be, buy the least amount of kit you can get away with for now, and add to it as you work out what else you need. So as close to this as you can: one pair of gloves and boots, one jacket, pants and lid. The other tip I'd have is to decide, before you get to a shop, whether you want leathers or textiles. Leathers are worn close-fitting and they're seldom waterproof, although you can wear waterproofs on top. Textiles are worn baggier, which means you wear your work clothes underneath, and you can add further layers to keep you warm in winter; they also tend to give much better protection from the rain. If I was thinking of doing most of my riding in fair weather, then my choice would be leathers + waterproofs, but it's down to personal preference. As it is, I have a good set of textiles, and I like the freedom they give to be riding whatever the English weather throws at me. Yeah, buy the jacket and trousers first, then get the boots and gloves to suit. If you can't get to a shop, try out sportsbikeshop.co.uk; they do free returns if it doesn't fit.
19. An awesome trip! Drop in for a cuppa if you're passing near by.
20. Yup. The sinking of the battleship.
21. I dunno if this helps: you should only use the right hand lane if you're overtaking another car, if you're about to turn right, or if you're coming up to a roundabout where you're going to turn right. The rest of the time you should be in the left hand lane. All the best with the retest.
22. Time was you could get a packet boat from Tilbury to Hamburg. Passengers only, tho. No cars or bikes.
23. Up to you mate, but I don't think I'd rush to sign to up mile after mile of flat, dull, northern Europe. It's the very gate of biker Hell. http://i.imgur.com/66wSZKj.png
24. Yeah, it's creepy I know.
25. A reminder: The Meldreth Motorcycle Show is tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. Gonna be fine evening, so plenty of bikes will be there. Details here: http://www.roystonmotorcycleclub.co.uk/2017show.html
