  1. I got one of those finger wiper things - someone on here recommended them - and I've found them loads better than a glove. Sometime you've just gotta wipe, and one wipe with a glove means game over as far as seeing anything goes: all I get to see is smear and grease. But the wipey thing works a treat. I can wipe as often as want and water will continue to bead up afterwards.
  2. Don't tell @Stu I said to, but find the F900R forum and see what people have used.
  3. Too bad mate. Not what you were aiming for when you got up this morning.
  4. A screen makes a big difference - keeps the cold air off the chest. I usually have on the DRZ, but I've taken it off for the summer. It will go back on come October. Another useful addition is a thin windproof layer immediately under your jacket. Something like a lightweight running jacket will easily pack inside a tail bag.
  5. Having a stupid day today
  6. Ooops, no they don't
  7. I'm not sure how your search is going to pan out. If you look at the pinlock web site (Products | Pinlock.com) they don't make inserts specifically for Zorax lids. I can't find anything equivalent from other manufacturers, either - even looked on aliexpress. If at the end of the road you can't find a pinlock to fot, you might consider a foggy mask. Here it is - Foggy Mask - Respro® - you will find it cheaper if you shop around. It's a big faff to get them installed in the right position, but once in they keep the visor clear, and they keep you snug in winter too. And, you don't have to peer at the road through a pinlock, which is nice.
  8. Is the gixxer new? I used to have one just the same
  9. @Allanmania well done. All the best for Thursday
  10. That's grim. Did you stop for a pee?
  11. Did you go? Many people out? I had a blast to Cambridge and back for a family bash. Loads of bikes on the road down here.
  12. Used to put mine into Soft when doin a motorway. I miss that sofa-and-slippers plush feeling.
  13. Hi Lee. Welcome!
  14. Oh yeah... didn't think of that If it's any help, riders report that it's a hard-wearing tyre, getting 10k miles+ out of a pair.
  15. The rear starts at 5.5mm, so you're 2.2 mm down from new. Another 2.2mm will see it down to 1.1mm, which is just above the legal limit. So it's about half way through its life.
  16. They'll be fine @peepae.
  17. It's more about shutter speed than f stop. You need something not too fast... 1/30s perhaps might be slow enough if the bike is going at a decent speed. Then you choose an f stop suitable for the current light conditions and iso. Finally, you have to pan while taking the shot, otherwise you get the opposite effect where the bike blurred but the background isn't.

    Break lever bent

You'll need to take it off and put it back whether you replace it or bend it back. I'm a spannerphobe but even I'd reckon it was easy job.
  19. But I think it's set up right for testing 10A through the start motor?
  20. Started off the weekend (sometimes I get lucky and start the weekend on Friday afternoon) with a short walk along the Blyth at Blythburgh. Got ridiculously lucky: saw lapwing, curlew, redshank, sandpipers, a pair of marsh harriers, a dozen spoonbills and an osprey.
  21. Oi mate. Tread carefully. No one calls me a physicist.
  22. CO2. Currently on offer from Sportsbikeshop for £19.
  23. Spent most of the day following @Essexboy, me on the 400 trying to keep up with his MS 1260. We stuck to back roads and single track lanes and had dry weather and great riding through south Suffolk, down into Essex and on to the Original Tea Hut in Epping Forest for lunch. Even though it's inside the M25, it's still the middle of a forest which means there's no reception and all transactions are Cash Only . All we could rustle up was one £10 note between us, so it was no lavish feast. To add a bit of pantomime to the morning, I fell off doing a U turn. The air vest went off like a balloon, but the bike and I were fine. Bit of a nob moment. 200+ miles. Completely knackered now.
  24. Gonna have a guess: Gaelic??
  25. I paid a quick visit to Wroclaw in '93 or '94. It was pretty depressing to be honest: lots of heavy industry and pollution, lots of empty shelves in the shops, nothing worked. The tram drivers even had to get out their cabs and change each set of points by hand, as the mechanical switchwork had failed. The opera house was great. And there were some trendy cafes opening up in the main square. Interesting to see the old crumbling communist world cheek by jowl with western hipsterised consumerism. I expect it too has changed a lot since then.
