    Newbie hi

Bad luck chap. Mine was stolen 4 years ago give or take a couple of days. Never recovered. What happened to yours?
  3. No, not had to do this. But based on my latent level of cynicism, I'd say Keep receipts for everything you even might put in the claim. They will for sure ask you for them. Don't sign anything until you're sure what you're agreeing to. Don't believe the other party's insurers when they say things like, "it's for this, but don't worry you can claim it back" or "it's just to say you've understood what I've said". If it were me, I'd hire a solicitor - someone with experience of helping bikers like White Dalton - to handle the claim.

  5. Kids these days, eh? I blame the parents
  6. oops didn't mean to post this
  7. Sorry mate it's not that simple. You have to set out your credentials: what you did, who saw, and what kind of a nob it's shown you to be. Best with pics.
  8. As long as I'm ahead of @Bungleaio, I'm a happy chap.
  9. Yeah, great pics. If you liked these, you might like the documentary ITV did on the 2022 TT races: No Room For Error - Series 1 - Episode 1 - ITVX. By far the best thing I've ever watched on TV about bikes.
  10. I try and get MOT and tax to fall at different times of the year. I'll buy 6 months tax if necessary. Just makes life easier.
  11. I'm a member of the MV Agusta forum. It's good for questions about torques and replacement screens and stuff but not a place to hang out.
  12. Welcome in mate. All I know about bikes is what I've learnt on this forum. So don't expect any sensible ideas out of me.
  13. Come on down mate. This place is made for you.
  14. That's an epic trip mate. I fed my inner Jack with a wild berry and white chocolate sundae today.
  15. Still kicking... and cooking. Bit warm here today and I'm off in a couple of hours to the Big Smoke where it'll be hotter still.

Sorry for your troubles. Who's advised you to use E5? Can you ask them why they recommend it? If E5 does solve the issue, it would seem to me to point at something fundamentally wrong with the firing. There are only so many things it can be: fuel delivery, air intake, exhaust (probably the least likely), and spark. There'll be those here with more knowledge than me who can tell you what to check. But this is such a common problem with Chinese scoots, you will find the answers already set out for by doing a bit of a search.
  17. And me in the parks in London. All the best in your new place @Davidtav. Hope you get the unpacking done in less time than the 6 years it took us

Hi there @Henrygeo. What bike(s) have you got? Which part of NY are you in? Can't say it's a state I know well, but I once had to do a sales presentation in Pearl River. I spent a whole morning about one mile across the state line, so I can honestly say it's a state I've visited. But only just.

    new rider

It would help us if you could you let us know what you're planning to use your bike for: Commuting (and if so how far is it, what are the speed limits you're going to ride)? Days out? Rides with mates? Longer trips? As for bike, get a 2nd hand Japanese 125, doesn't matter too much about age or mileage, as long as it has been looked after. It will be reliable, and won't lose you any money when you come to sell it on. Any that matches this description will do you fine, unless you're particularly short or tall, in which case you might have to look around to find one that fits your size. Helmet: buy new. Go to a real shop where they sell one and ask for help getting the right fit. Without help, people tend to choose one that's too loose. Other kit: buy secondhand from ebay. But what you get depends on what kind of riding you're going to do.
  20. Good grief that's shocking.
  21. Never heard anyone call Halesworth "funky town" before now, but I've a feeling the name will stick. All well ta, @Mr Fro. Off for a quick trip to Folkestone today to see some cousins. How 'bout you?
  22. @smallfrowne Oh my. What a freakin awesome picture. I don't think I'd ever want to ride again after that - how could it ever get better?
  23. Hate that feeling. Glad to hear the damage was small, mate.
  24. If you want a way to deter thieves, then two locks are the to go. If it me, I'd opt for an alarmed disc lock plus a heavy duty padlock and chain too.
  25. This was how it was in June. Was great.
