1. onesea - don't worry too much about the advice of the moral brigade or the super-correct. Just follow the NHS advice: even if you're infected, you get out in the open air for exercise. Just don't get any closer than 2m to other people. And I would add don't touch stuff (like gates) with your hands (but of course you can touch the dog, the lead. the ball )
2. There's nowhere where you're asked for your details - not even an email address. When you complete it, you'll see that it's completely legit. And it's interesting, too.
3. We've had a number of surveys posted here over the years. My view is that this one is the first one written for grownup people.
4. Rumours are being passed on even faster than the virus

Route 66

I used to live in OK, up north of Tulsa near the Kansas border, and there are still parts of the old Route 66 in place between Tulsa and OK City. My experience is that, to get the best out of the mid-west, you need to get off the interstates and major state highways - they are very, very dull - and find the roads that take you the back way into the heart of the smaller communities, and have enough time to linger and bump into the local folk, even if its just to stock up on root beer. Don't rush it or try to cover crazy distances*. Stay in small towns or in state parks. The experience is unlike anywhere else on earth. Of course you'll want to visit the big sites too, but I'd suggest looking for a tour that offers more than just a chance to check things off the bucket list. *A friend and I once did a weekend trip to in Santa Fe, NM - 1500 miles round trip, leaving Friday night, back by Sunday night. It was the kind of trip you have to do once, but never want to do again. I clearly remember running over an armadillo on the last mile before getting home - <> it went under the wheels of mile half-ton Ford Mercury. The next morning on the way home, I looked out for its remains, but there wasn't anything there - it had just got up from the road and wandered off home. Of course, given how exhausted I was, I could have just imagined the whole thing...
6. I tried carrying 2 bottles of milk in this topbox in 1976. Didn't end well! I've had a similarly bad experience with a half case of wine.
7. I used to stick mine in a small rucksack, and put the whole lot in the top box. Worked a treat. Now I've got panniers, I put the laptop in a silicone sleeve, and pad out the remaining space with some over-trousers so it doesn't flap about too much. I've also dropped the laptop several times on the floor. Now they've understood I'm clumsy, they've given me a solid state drive.

... until you actually try one. Then they're just plain fun
9. Nice one, mate. Those bikes are insanely fun
10. I've converted from Maybe to No. Feeling so much better . Still not allowed out of the house until Thursday tho.

12. I put myself down as a maybe. I'm breathing a lot more easily today, which is a really nice feeling. The cough is slightly better. Still 100% washed out though.
13. Does anyone know plans exist for raising taxes as we move from fossil fuels to electric? This is what I mean: fuel duty is scheduled to bring in £28.4bn this year - that's around 20% of the cost of running the NHS. Where's that money going to come from as people buy less fuel? Are there any new taxes are in the pipeline?
14. Been running a temperature with a cough and a sore throat for a couple of days now. Feeling pretty rough. Don't know what it is, but it sure ain't a cold.

16. Here are the 16 worst-affected countries ranked by infection rate per head of population. The UK comes in at number 26 today, with 11 cases per million. But the number of cases are increasing here at the same rate as they are in France or Germany - we're only lagging behind them by a couple of days I reckon. https://i.imgur.com/h6xCHQh.png' alt='IMGUR>'>
17. This sounds quite likely. The feeling is very like an underinflated tyre, with the difference that at slow speeds I can feel it it pulsing slightly.
18. Yesterday. On one of Her Majesty's Highways. It wasn't that broad (the pothole, not Her Majesty), but it was about three miles deep and the front wheel went crunch. Since then the bike is wobbly and feels light at the front, whereas before it would track smoothly. I'm going to have to get it fixed. I've reported the pothole to the Highways Agency, and asked for claim forms, but I am not holding out much hope that they'll cough up. But what now? I'm not even sure what's wrong, although I'd guess the front wheel's buckled out of shape. Do I take it to a local garage to test it out? Do I file an insurance claim and hand my precious bike over to them? I'm a bit flummoxed.
19. My bad for relying on memory and not rushing to google. 5ft is 5ft.... we got another contender for next years twat of the year extreme Too right. It's ok for Gerontious, but me without 5ft - I'd hardly exist.
20. Lining out of the trousers first. You don't want to overcook yourself.
21. Nice one beefy. Really pleased for you
22. I've used them. Never had to claim, but always found that they were helpful when I had to call.
