  1. a way point is fixed .. will appear in my favourites .. can be used multiple times in unending variety .... shaping points are unique to that particular route file ... they can be lost in the transfer from the creation software to the sat-nav unit ... they can also be lost if the unit needs to recalculate ... their benefit is the quickness with which a route can be planned ... they are of no use whatsoever if you need to reprogram the sat-nav unit "on the hoof" where as waypoints are infinitely usable for on the hoof reprogramming... caveat Garmin
  2. Hmmm.. your MO. is not how i work .. basecamp ... being fixed is the whole point of using them .. and the ability to have a spare programmed unit constantly available ...
  3. given your requirements .. which is referred to as mixed mode routing.. simple and only solution is to use waypoints ....
  4. for a tea / coffee .. maybe something simple like a bacon sandwich .. as its cooked in front of you .. if you buy from the van in the carpark seating area ... at a push.. otherwise .. toilet and toddle off ...
  5. seriously ? frankly i found it to be slop you like ... what would Egon Ronay say ... but on a positive note there is a café just a short distance away NY500 .... https://goo.gl/maps/doZbTrhWgPhPWEiS7 there you go ..
  6. a problem solved ... its called a thermostat .. been around for some time .... chindogu
  7. Switzerland is well worth the effort .. those passes adjacent to Andermatt are breathtaking ... its expensive though including the vignette .. and fuel requires a credit card in many places..
  8. you got caught speeding ...
  9. i have indeed read your post .. however it is evident that for whatever "excuses" you choose to give you are not to be relied upon .. so it is best to organise things oneself .. easy to dismiss uncomfortable truths by decrying troll ... and its of to the FWOT. section for you.
  10. not someone who's reliability is questionable ...
  11. i haven`t missed any point ... i just don`t agree with it..
  12. my second most earnest super useful suggestion is don`t rely on other people to organise things for you .. best do it yourself ... to avoid disappointment ...
  13. once upon a time i did teach cbt. and issue the DL196 .. the management of such companies do take advantage of peoples enthusiasm ...... but he is the manager of a shitty little pub now ..
  14. given the change price £6k .. don`t think i would be rushing to upgrade .. if +18 bhp. and minus 3Kg. counts as an upgrade ...
  15. would you like another blue peter badge ?
  16. outing the supercilious ...

    Where????

the world is full of half truths and lies.. but we spent a pleasant day ridin round the locations .... and the food was good from the eateries/cafes ....
  19. the example shown has but one microphone ... the next generation have at least three ... there will be arguments in court in and around your assertion .. as similarly there was around speed cameras ... untill the trap becomes enforceable ... which it will ..
  20. hmmm .. usually i just make a gpx. file on the sat nav... not challenging at all ..

    Where????

you could do the Vosges .. or even the Eifel ... though someone else is organisin a trip there ... or they may not be .. any way Joachim Peiper not to be confused wit Robert Shaw
  22. but my most earnest super useful suggestion is don`t go away with anyone who takes themselves too seriously .. because they can storm off in the huff...
