tappet is the noise made by a worn cam follower, however the term is widely used to represent the cam follower itself. If you follow haynes and do a service all will become clear

I have an Oxford mini. Had it years. Only set off with it on once -
Just a thought. Does your fuel tap have a prime position? Some joker tried turning my fuel off outside the pub but it didn't have an off position, just on , reserve and prime. Ran half a tank onto the floor. Just a thought.

Worn or loose sprockets won't help. Replace the set, sprockets and chain and start again. And next time buy shaft drive

Had some commando boots 10 years. Comfy, tough and versatile. A bit of wax and they're waterproof. Check them when I'm out with the dog by walking in the river.
