  1. You won't have any problems with an experienced pillion. Just need to adjust braking distances. Mine corners better two up. You may need to adjust the rear suspension preload. With a new pillion have a word with them about how the bike leans round corners and not to sit up. Show them where to hang on to the bike and explain to sit still and only comfort shuffle on the straights. (No standing up and waving at mates on a mini roundabout) Telegraph your actions. Touching the brakes before applying them fully gives your passenger time to brace. Same when you set off. Be smooth through the gears, feathering throttle and clutch helps. The best bit about riding two up is how fast and agile the bike feels when they get off
  2. Sticky back foam or rubber or a piece of draught excluder. Have a look in the DIY shop or a halfords type shop.

  4. Could be all sorts of things, some simple , some serious. If you mess about with it yourself you'll invalidate your warranty. Take it back to the dealers. And don't be screaming the engine with 60 miles on the clock. Gently does it
  5. Bit of a vague question. Is the rest of the box slick enough? Any strange noises. Brand new or new to you? Mileage. Could be the clutch needs adjusting. Could be road speed / engine revs not suitable for gear selected. Could you be a bit more expansive on the problem?
  6. What's orange and sounds like a parrot? A carrot
  7. Try rubbing castor oil into the leather before you ride. Nourishes , waterproofs and softens.
  8. Don't be lazy. Everybody's hands are different same as feet. Get trying some on.
  9. Your bike wheel bearing will be a sealed race type and the car one may be a taper bearing. Using the right grease on a taper bearing is essential. Grease and tighten till it just starts to bite and back of slightly. Check for play. You can feel when it's right.
  10. It's pinking. Pre ignition. The spark is firing before the piston reaches top dead centre. Used to be a more common problem when 4 stroke engines used leaded petrol. Your timing may be out or the petrol may be cr@p or you may be labouring the engine.
  11. No man made fibre can rival silk. Warm in winter, cool in summer, light and hard wearing. A better wicking fibre than anything man made. Expensive is all. I have silk undergloves and a silk scarf. It hasn't been around for 4,000 years cos it's crap. Try it and you won't go back.
  12. Mickey mouse goes to the solicitors and asks about a divorce from minnie. "What are the grounds Mr Mouse?" "She's f**kin goofy" "I'm afraid that sticky out teeth is not grounds for divorce" "That's not what I said "
  13. Some bikes don't like being jumped off a car or another bike. Power output / Damage to electronics and all that. I use one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/portable-jump-s ... ssor-49038 Easiest way to sort a puncture is take the wheel off. Cadge a lift or take it on the bus to the tyre shop. Who wouldn't stop for someone thumbing with a wheel
  14. Watch out for leaking fork oil contaminating your front brake
  15. Try searching with a strong magnet. I have a couple out of a dead microwave oven
  16. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/16322 Google silk balacalava. Handy if you have long hair too.(I seem to vaguely remember )
