  1. I had a nice brekky there yesterday with a mate. Glad to see it's doing well.
  2. Glad to see you're tidying that garage. It was an absolute disgrace. You could hardly see the bikes for things piled everywhere.
  3. It's less a case of structural failure, more a case that a tyre looking like that has lost grip, especially in the wet.
  4. There are worse places a stick could be shoved.
  5. Weekend plans: A ride out with a mate through South Cheshire, Shropshire, back via Wales. Sailing the Laser. Family over for a BBQ to celebrate my wife's birthday. Delivering honey to various people on my travels.
  6. I developed lower back problems when I had a job sat at a desk and the chair wasn't a good one. If you've had back issues in the past the problem doesn't go away even though you may not be currently experiencing pain there. Make sure that your workplace makes provision for proper posture. I've spent a small fortune on an office chair for my current desk.
  7. Hmm..I posted something from my phone but it never showed up. Do you store the bike outside? Sunlight can wreck tyres very quickly if they are exposed to it for long periods.
  8. That's because when it goes wrong they flag down a passing car, pile everything into the back and get a lift up to the top. At least that's how my wife explained the presence of a young chap in the back of the car.
  9. Although you may not be feeling stressed riding I'd bet you're tensing up all the same and what you are experiencing is the aftermath. Check how strong your grip on the bars is, it is a natural tendency to grip hard and that transfers stress into the areas you're experiencing the pain across. It can take quite a determined effort to hold the grips more lightly. The other thing which I picked up on here only recently is Grip Puppies. I'd known about them for years and always thought they were a gimmick - but they work. I fitted them to both bikes and to be honest I am amazed at the difference. Not only do they smooth out vibration but they seem to make the grips feel more natural. I went out on a ride today that I usually feel a bit of backache afterwards - first time I've been that route since fitting them - and I really noticed the difference.
  10. They are called bimbles, not wobble outs.
  11. Anyway, back to what this is all about - I nominate the HGV driver who was waiting to turn into the Salt Works in Winsford this morning. It's a gentle bend so clear visibility for a good distance. He was stationary with a right hand signal on when I approached. He had a clear road so I've no idea why he hadn't turned but he could see me coming from a few hundred yards distance. He sat there until I was literally within a few feet then lunged across the road at the last minute. There was no way on earth I could have stopped so I just aimed for the closing gap between the front of the HGV and the kerb and squeezed through.
  12. Just to make you feel better A year later I was born 1997 is when I left and it was eggs and flour thrown all over! Blimey, I didn't realise you were still in short trousers Stu.
  13. If I remember right we just walked out of the gate for the last time and that was that. I was not sorry to leave.
  14. You won't get a moped on a car mounted bike rack. You'd need a dedicated motorbike carrier as fitted to motorhomes. Probably easier to get a trailer and a slightly bigger machine.
  15. They're meant to stay running in neutral. I don't understand what you're saying.
  16. No idea of what the moped is but isn't the one on the bike rack an electric bike?
  17. If Halfords use Eurocarparts to fulfil orders that's another nail in the coffin. I've avoided them like the plague (*) since they got caught buying trusted brand names then filling the boxes with far eastern made crap. (*) - see what I did there - brought the whole thread back on topic.
  18. You know what they say....a tidy garage is a sign of a deranged mind.
  19. I used to use Halfords quite a bit and I'm still a fan of their Pro range of tools. But recently I've given up going there for anything to do with motoring. They just don't stock anything any more. Last time I wanted an oil filter they could only order them in. So it's no wonder car related sales have dropped off.
  20. My interpretation is that OP has bent the clutch lever towards the bar's as their hand isn't large enough span to reach it? If so with the correct adjustment for slack there is not enough travel on the lever to disengage the clutch and make the bite point to near to the bar. I agree. Usually the free play at the lever is just a few millimetres. If the lever is too far out with the correct adjustment look at installing adjustable levers where you can change the setting of the lever without compromising the operation of the cable.
  21. Have you tried one of those bands with two buttons on to hook the elastic round? Saves your ears getting sore. I dropped a load off at our local hospital last week. The staff can't get enough of them.
  22. There's got to be an income stream making TMBF facemasks. I'd have a few.
  23. The absence of any kind of photo makes this confusing. I can't see how a chain can become as slack as described unless something has broken or moved. Even a worn chain and sprockets wouldn't cause what is described.
