  1. I have tried a multitude of ear plugs. I have tinnitus so I'm ultra careful about my lugholes. The best I've found to date are Eggz. My only gripe is they are black so if drop one in the dark you're stuffed. But for noise reduction, comfort and ease of use they're the only ones I buy now.
  2. Congratulations and well done. I hope you enjoy it.
  3. Went out, half a mile up the lane turned round, refitted thermal linings in my jeans. Went out again, not so chilly this time.
  4. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.....
  5. Changing air filters generally makes very little difference to performance other than ensuring you have a clean filter. Stick with the original.
  6. Regrettably not. Just the two at the moment.
  7. Her choice of stickers has improved!
  8. Lots of people will tell you from experience....buy a good used Japanese 125, look after it and it will be more reliable, cheaper to service, and you'll get your money back when you trade up. Don't go off online reviews, they're often not really independent. Go into a dealers and look at bikes hands on.
  9. I think you've drained it via the gearchange detent bolt. There is usually a separate bolt for the oil change. The gearchange detent usually consists of a spring and a domed collar, which is the bit you've found. Check the drained oil for a spring.
  10. I cut off the screw connector and replace it with a clip on type. The daft thing is that if you buy the clip on its own it is more expensive than buying one with a tube attached.
  11. This is what happens when your 2 year old granddaughter gets loose with stickers.
  12. I have a Halfords 200% brighter headlight bulb. It is better than standard but I wouldn't say it's twice as bright. It is said they fail quicker but I've had it in for 4 years now. I live in a rural area so riding on unlit roads it does make a difference. In terms of being seen the best thing I've found is a light that wobbles slightly. It creates the same effect as a flicker and that certainly catches motorists' attention. The next best thing is to create a triangle of lights. I have two small leds mounted on the forks. They are wired into the dipped beam circuit.
  13. Loud shirts save lives.....
  14. The price of salmon you could stick a fiver between each slice.
  15. I'd go for them transporting the bike. Not least it saves you the hassle of getting back from the dealer.
  16. Grrrr....our daughter did an Asda order as we are meeting up for a BBQ. She ordered 12 burgers, they sent 4. I may have to be sustained by beer.
  17. It's the idiots that chuck a lit cigarette out of their window that make me wonder what would happen it the lit butt burnt a hole in my jacket.
  18. Happy birthday. Hope it's a good un.
  19. It's amazing what spme people throw away. I spotted a Hayter mower next to a skip I'm a neighbour's drive. He said I could have it as it wouldn't start. All that was wrong was that the starter battery was flat. I got it going, took it back, but he didn't want it. It was nearly a grand's worth of mower. I donated it to a local charity for their grounds where it ran for years.
  20. My favourite sticker came from a trade show for funeral directors. It reads.....Hare & Burke, Specialist Removers.
  21. The KJV has some gems though. When King Abimelech looked out of his window and spotted Isaac and Rebecca making out the translators put it into English as they were "sporting". Later versions simply say they were making love, I think the KJV is more fun.
  22. One of the best books I have read. I love his writing.
  23. Chains and sprockets tend to wear together. It's as the chain stretches that the sprockets wear in sync. Hence you usually change both. If the chain hasn't worn then the sprockets may be OK to accept a new chain. At 8000 miles I'd change both. But put the old chain alongside the new one and compare length over the same number of links. If there's no difference you can probably get away with it. I suspect you will find the old chain will have worn in comparison to the new one, in which new sprockets will be needed.
