  1. Thank you. Ah, a long wait I see Well to be honest I haven't been on my bike since she got pregnant essentially . I don't blame my wife - she loved being on the bike but appeared to have a mindset change when she got pregnant and how she is here, I'm "too precious to lose". This thought is influenced by news and multiple medical programs that show bikers being mangled in crashes. However, I am optimistic that this will change and I'll get to have some leisure ride outs. You can pillion a toddler, right?
  2. Thank you. Ha, fingers crossed for you!
  3. Thank you. I'm sure we all say it but my wife and I are pretty strong, we've had to be strong at certain tough times together, and we realise how lucky we are to have a healthy child in the first place. We have also worked as a team throughout the night so far so I'm confident we'll work well together. We are stuck with each other We aren't waiting to have weekends away or trips out. National Trust Memberahip is due to be bought asap and we've got things booked in. One of those is The Clash in April (rugby, not the band), a short trip to Italy in May and brother in law is getting married in Spain in September. Lots to look forward too. We are fascinated by her now, so we'll keep an eye out for 12 weeks.
  4. So, in the Xmas thread I stated that I had a sober Christmas and New Year because my wife was due to give birth to our first born. Well my first born finally arrived on January 7th 2020 and we are both ecstatic, but tired. My wife more so as a complication (after the baby was delivered) required a 4 day hospital stay. She is fine and doing well, as is our daughter, but I think in the four days at hospital we got roughly....4 hours sleep each. As you may notice from the time this is posted.... we are still awake at night with the young one. On top of this I am writing a thesis and it's due in March, so I'll be doing that at the same time as working. So, to get my wife, our dog and I through the nights, I'd love to read others parenting things; funniest, pointers and anything topical so I can read it while our new born takes up our allotted hours of sleeping and while my dog is confused because he can here us all walking and talking but doesn't understand why we aren't out for walkies!
  5. Thanks for the messages all. Srillw waiting...still sober
  6. Last year I spent Christmas day on the island of Koh Phi Phi with my wife on our honeymoon, drinking beer and eating a proper Thai curry. This year I'm sober on Christmas day for the first time in about 14 years or so, awaiting the imminent birth of my first child, due any day now Merry Christmas
  7. Watch "The Great Hack" on Netflix... shows you the whole Cambridge Analytica thing and how they harvested data and used it in the American election. Genuinely scary stuff in my opinion. Also, I've not been on Facebook for a long, long, long time so I'm no help at all. So, this post may be totally useless
  8. What about cycle speedway? I've driven past this track near Hailsham, Sussex often, and its left me puzzled. I must admit I haven't researched it but as a simple man thinking simply, how does it work, in that it's called speedway? Can't see them cornering in the same manner as the motorbikes.

  10. I worked at a Holland and Barrett while at uni, he came in and I sold him protein powder. He was with his partner I believe. I've got his autograph on the back of a receipt roll. I asked him if was worth more as he had to write it cack handed (he had his hand in a cast).

  13. "This name refers to a folk story set in the time when smuggling was a significant industry in rural England, with Wiltshire lying on the smugglers' secret routes between the south coast and customers in the centre of the country.[2] The story goes that some local people had hidden contraband barrels of French brandy from customs officers in a village pond. While trying to retrieve it at night, they were caught by the revenue men, but explained themselves by pointing to the moon's reflection and saying they were trying to rake in a round cheese. The revenue men, thinking they were simple yokels, laughed at them and went on their way. But, as the story goes, it was the moonrakers who had the last laugh. In the words of Wiltshire shepherd William Little who recounted the story to writer John Yonge Akerman: “ Zo the excizeman ’as ax’d ’n the question ’ad his grin at ’n,…but they’d a good laugh at ’ee when ’em got whoame the stuff.” I'm from Wiltshire... and that paragraph is from Wikipedia
  14. I like Toughmudders. Yes, its 12 miles but the longest you'd run is a mile as there are at least twelve obstacles to do. Also, there's no time limit really, so you can be casual. I think they start asking questions if you've been about 6 hours. Also, a free bottle of cider, a headband, tshirt and snacks at the end. And your entry fee goes to charity and you could raise money. You can also take your mates and do it as a team. Although you'll get very wet, muddy and electrocuted (a bit) ... you can skip obstacles if you want to It's not a pushy course, lots of camaraderie and my 56 year old mother finished it so you can too
  15. My arm is in progress of becoming a full sleeve - the tiger is a bamboo tattoo while I was on a holiday to Thailand, sits inside my bicep, and the lion is on my outer apper arm on the outside. Butterfly is below the lion, bottom of my bicep. I'm booked in to get an elephant tattoo on my lower arm (from a photo I took) while at an elephant sanctuary on my honeymoon last xmas. Then I'll complete the sleeve with a photo of the painted dogs and then sleeve filling with elephant plant leaves. The achillies helmet is on my right calf, which is diminished to my Achilles injury, that's also a bamboo tattoo (same place as tiger) that I got while on my honeymoon. I do have a pattern design on my back, goes from my shoulder then down my spine, but can take a picture I'd have loads of tattoos if I could have afforded them in my 20's. Please forgive the slightly blurry, poor photo skills!! Edit: the arms represents the animals I've been lucky enough to encounter from a safari, honeymoon etc. Butterfly has a long story to it, but family related.
  16. This chap offends my hearing and my vision (for that haircut). Bored at my old job, I used to look up rap songs from other countries..... I'm still a big Weird Al fan to!!!!!!

  19. I'm on an SV and I'm pretty happy with that. I used to do 110 miles a day commuting, and A and B roads will be much more fun than doing mostly motorways. That's I had to do
  20. One of my favourites: 2vfjsi.jpg I like Jim, hes funny and makes some pretty good points in his stand up routines. His gun speech was good. Tad offensive mind
  21. Opie has a trick he tries to use to stop me leaving for work.... He has a toy we call the haemorrhoid.... And on the brook with my dad's labs....
