1. I do have the cover, I had taken it off Sorry, of course you would have done . Anyway here's the Bleed Nipple . https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/suzuki/sv_650_sk3/03/picture/bleed_nipple_-_front_-_stainless_steel With thanks, one and all
2. Thank you Stu and fastbob. I'll soak it for a while and then give it another go! Have a friend who's a car mechanic, might be worth seeing if he has any tools laying around that might help!

4. Hello Very kindly received advice about bleeding brakes recently and I finally got time to do it today but I have encountered a problem..... The front brakes have been done, not a problem but the pictures are of the rear .... that valve (nut thing) I'm meant to turn is not moving and I'm now just rounding off the edges. Any tool or tips that will help me move this back and forth as per the requirement? I'm sceptical about pliers! Thanks again!!!!
5. Love him to bits but our "little puppy" is now 35 kg and has cost my biking time, he wont fit in tank bag or top box.... He would need a sidecar or trailer (not got there yet)! He is now costing me my car... He's doing well the dog classes and others frequently refer to him as a horse, he takes great please in untraining other dogs to play, his recall is somewhat optional he is over friendly with EVERYONE and any animal he is big boundy and gentle. Training still in progress... We won't mention his ability to destroy any dog chew, dog toy, toilet roll, shoe, door mat dog bed in the shortest time.. He is now 12 months old and doing well. Great pictures. God dog toys.....our 8 month old cocker spaniel destroyed a Kong Extreme toy in 10 seconds about a month ago!! We have to be careful with toys, but an antler is surviving so far!!! He's also got a thing for socks and shoes!! I've lost bike time too but he's just about worth it.
6. I'm guessing the bike came with an under the seat tool kit too?
7. Consider the old speckled hen I'm drinking now a toast to your birthdays. Happy birthday!
8. Here's my spanner...... Is an annual mileage of 4000 miles enough? With all those pubs to see for the challenge!!
9. Halfords still do them but they're not always up to date and aren't brilliant for bike versions. I'd go online. The last few I've bought have been off Amazon. Bit late to this one but I got mine from eBay for under a tenner!
10. First bike, if I recall correctly, was a Lifan Hongda 125, which I had for 6 months, then passed my bike licence and moved on.
11. Mark , I did write you a lovely detailed account of how I did my brakes but unfortunately, as you may be aware, the server crashed. If you are still in need of some tips , let me know . I appreciate the time and effort! I have a couple of advisories from the last mot, one of which needs a 'proper mechanic' (definitely way better than me) so will be taking it to a garage, probably for a basic service to fix so if you can't be arsed to type it out again, it's no problem. If you wish to type it out again, to teach someone something, I'm happy to receive it! Id like to learn some basic bike maintenence!
12. Totally sounds like a sensible idea - when I say it sounds fun, I mean I haven't a scoobies as to what I'd be doing!! But you would be an expert after you'd done it. We'll see about that one! I'm guessing the reason it feels like my brakes are "on" when I ride the bike was because of the callipers? Any special tools required to do the work or will a toolbox full do? (As well as the bikes toolkit)
13. Well that sounds fun! It's not exactly fun but the results can be astonishingly good . Having said that ,there are many others on here who would urge you not to bother and to swap them for Nissin callipers . Totally sounds like a sensible idea - when I say it sounds fun, I mean I haven't a scoobies as to what I'd be doing!!
14. Well that sounds fun!
15. Good morning all! So, yesterday evening I rode my bike for the first time in 4 months ( ) as part of the final action of moving house. Safe to say I should have ridden it previously but I had some stresses, house move, job move and a honeymoon to deal with. I'm ready to get back on the bike more often now, including the odd commute again, but I need to get the bike back up to scratch. Can anyone give any advice on what I should do as part of this sort out? For example, my chain is still in great condition but I'll clean it and re-spray it with oil etc but the brakes were stiff, so how's the best way to get these back to ' normal'? What else should I check? I've got my Haynes manual which I'll be flicking through for ideas but who can resist the TMBF knowledge? Thank you
16. Merry Xmas from Koh Phi Phi, Thailand
17. Is he wearing trainers? Who rides a bike, fast, out on traffic in just trainers? Baffles me!
18. After a bad start to the year, I got married, bought a dog, purchased a house with my wife (move in new year) and got a new job, leaving my old job that had an hour and a half commute. I fly to Thailand today for my honeymoon!!
19. I had a courtesy bike a fee years ago, whilst mine was having something done to it and I turned on a camber, lost my footing and broke a footpeg, clutch lever and another peg. £185 quid later I like a prat. Was off to a date with the woman I eventually married.
20. This is just plain wrong. The movie ends....
21. That moment where you realise the person in front of you is doing something so stupid you might die is one of the wierdest feelings you can get. Death by stupidity it’s not the way to go Is it, glad you’re unscathed, that’s definitely a brown trouser moment. Did you get a look at their face and was it that clueless look of a total moron or were they at least red faced and realising their monumental idiocy? I see this on the M23 Gatwick junction often. Left hand lane is Gatwick turn off only and I often see people stationary in the middle lane indicating for Gatwick, usually a late made decision. I was on the M25 the other day, queuing to come off to the A2, long line of traffic, and on the slip road where you start seeing the slip road and lane 1 divide (and you start seeing the barrier) I was in the queue and cars had stoped stationary there and queued in lane 1. Nutjobs. I feel for lorry drivers who have a hard time stopping/avoiding these buffoons.
