  1. A lot of people don't get it. But it's nice to see a manufacturer trying something different. Perhaps this will be like the yamaha GTS. Not really appreciated till it's well out of production.
  2. Well done to the pair of them.
  3. Yes as long as you do a CBT after passing your car test, or had one when passed after 2001. You can ride a moped without doing more CBT courses. Before 2001 you get the moped licence automatically.
  4. Having new inlet rubbers makes fitting the carbs so much easier. Less likely to get an air leak too.
  5. So the two recent events mentioned were not even electric bikes! I live in the city and the amount of Sur On electric bikes seen going round here well in excess of the speed limit is crazy. In the forest they are just going to ignore any ban anyway. The legal bike's are not that fast.
  6. I see where you're coming from. Born to be Wilde!
  7. It's to do with YouTube copyright infringement policy. You can get strikes against your account if you use music belonging to someone else. so most just use some from the YouTube playlist.
  8. Welcome to the forum James. It most likely is the rectifier, but it could also be the stator. If you can find a manual it should give you specs to check the stator.
  9. The Triumph Bonneville would be a good place to start. Been out for years so one for every price range. An absolute ton of aftermarket bits to make it your own. Easy to get on for a passenger, and a comfortable seat.
  10. Like said it's really just a cash cow. I live in Portsmouth and at the moment it's only HGV and commercial vehicles. But we all know that will change at some point. It's really not made very clear when you are entering the zone as well.
  11. Surely it should be criminal damage? Police just don't seem to care about this sort of thing anymore.
  12. Yes I still have my thermal lining in the jacket and trousers.
  13. Two in the shed, one under a cover outside. With a cover I found that it's best to let the bike cool down first. A warm wet bike under a cover gives the ideal conditions for rust. Living by the sea and riding all year round are the worst things I have to deal with. ACF50 does help. But even washing every week isn't so effective with the amount of salt round here.
  14. That looks in great condition for its age. Good luck with the sale.
  15. I don't mind riding in the rain. But drizzle and fog are not pleasant. Modern tyres really do make it a much better experience than it was years ago.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Really awful thing to happen.

    new bike

Wow nice bike. I always wonder why people sell bikes with so few miles done. One of my mates sold his bike after five months as he found the seat so uncomfortable.
  18. It's funny how we get attachments to these mechanical devices. But like you said it's more than the machine itself, it's the memories it helps to create. You did the right thing though. I still look occasionally for one of my old bikes. And my mate keeps looking for his 250 he brought after passing his test. Mine has not been through an MOT for years. My mates has changed colour and halved the mileage!
  19. It's the same here in the U.K. Sometimes see people on quads on the road without a helmet.
  20. One of them did. They were so corroded the threads were only about half the size at the head they should of been.
  21. Over the last couple of days I wanted to remove these exhaust bolts. Would rather do it now, than the middle of the winter, when I might be forced to. managed to get one out, the other snapped. So grinding, drilling, and tapping sorted it.
  22. Thanks. Would need to change many tyres to get the money back.
  23. I rode the bike from the front of the house to the rear entrance in the car park once. It was only about 40 metres. No gloves on just felt weird.
  24. Got any pictures of the manual tyre changer? Or a link?
  25. That's great you like it. Will be interesting to see what mileage you get from a charge once using it regularly.
