  1. Oil and filter change, brake fluid change, chain checked along with the other 500 or so checks the KTM dealer so called does at the service. Just clocked over 4200 miles in the last 12 months, probable put another 1K before my trip. Now the question is 'do I replace the tyres before the tour in May'. I have read reports of people riding 9K with the Avon Trailriders before changing them.
  2. I'm trying to sort out a trip this year, usually, I like to take either the first week in June or the first week in September; however, this year, its not possible for me to use those weeks. My options now are either May Spring Bank Holiday (Last week in May) or 3rd Week in September. I am trying to plan a route down to Interlaken, were I would stay for 4 days (camping). But I keep thinking how good the Glossglockner could be in May. Trying to plan a good route is getting harder as I cant make my mind up I only have a week and I don't mind putting in the mileage on the first day to be in an easy reach of my destination. Its choosing where to go that is the hardest.
  3. The KTM forum is OK, its like having a digital version of a Haynes Manual
  4. Why change a tyre with little over 2k. Or is it a confidence thing! Buy the best you can afford, but a pair of Dunlop ditch finders for £210 is a good price in todays climate We all have different experiences with different manufacturers. I'm a Michelin Fanboy, others hate them
  5. Off to the Rugby Club to celebrate St Paddy's day
  6. I have personal experience of dealing with the blood sucking parasites. 'Gob shites the lot of em'
  7. Always on the side stand, cos that's all its got very rarely remain sat on the bike when filling up.
  8. I've started commuting again on the KTM, 50 mile round trip, been riding in 2c and the Keis heated gloves have been put to the test, pleased to report, warm and toasty. I need to get my act together, too much faffing around before and after the ride.
  9. Applied some XCP yesterday and today rode it to work. I have decided to go back to using the bike for work, I hate being in the car, traffic on my commute is horrendous. Obviously as the days get longer and the weather starts to improve, my ride home naturally gets longer
  10. Ah Good Ole British Standards, not to be confused with Council and Highways who have no standards
  11. Pain in the arse if it doesn't fit or you have to return it.
  12. I went out for two hours yesterday morning, temp was showing 6°C. I didn't need the Keis heated Gillet (which I've had for around 15 years), but the Keis heated 701s gloves were brilliant, too hot on the highest setting for me.
  13. My wife tell me I snore like a trooper so I couldn't possibly stay in a Hostel. Anyhow, I couldn't think of anything worse than staying in one, but then again I have to sleep in the far corner of a camp site, just so others can get some sleep
  14. I've had several pairs of custom fit ear plugs, the most comfortable ones being Auritech Custom Guards(£129), and the worst being Custom Fit Guards (£99). The Auritech ones were small and fitted within the ear, the helmet did not press against them, where as the CFG are quite filling of the ear and after time the helmet pressed against the plugs, causing pain after around 2 hrs. Now I use the Auritech Universal biker plugs. (£19.95) CFG Auritech universal
  15. Not a bad site for moisture-wicking, breathable and light weight Tee shirts, base layers & waterproof over jackets, offering up to 30% discount Camo T-shirts, Vests and Polo Shirts UK (military1st.co.uk)
  16. Good Evening. I hear Chester KTM & Harley Davidson along with Manchester Harley Davidson have shut shop. Not good for someone who has their bike there or farkles ready to be collected.
  17. Grass Roots Football on Saturday followed by a walk into town, a visit to the Micropub for a couple of scoops of their finest. Sunday, Grass Roots Rugby, quarter final home game against our arch rivals. Might involve a beer or two
  18. Good Evening We've just opened the Vino Its needed, we looked after both Granddaughters for the day today
  19. Today I had a ride to J&S Accessories at Oakmere. Bought some bike cleaner, got home and couldn't be bothered to clean the bike Whilst on the car park, I noticed 3 cars full of plod pull up and they all headed for the cafe, it must serve some decent coffee and cake in there The Keis gilet and gloves kept me nice and warm, temp was a barmy 7ºC
  20. I was thinking more along these lines
