So I've done another 100 miles or so on the Guzzi including going up Fish  Hill on the A44. The more I ride it the more I like it. With it being lower than the Multistrada it seems to go into corners easier. The lights are way better than the Multistrada's. Having heated grips is a novelty for me and one I quickly got to like. The brakes are excellent and having an effective rear brake is a pleasant change. Not sure about the Pirelli Angel GT 2 tyres. A couple of times on the country roads there was a slight squiffle which I can't remember having with the PR6's. The Ohlins suspension is nice as well. So far so very good.

If I can have a favourite hill, it has to be Fish Hill 🤣 Glad you're enjoying the new bike, I must admit, if I was going for a road bike, it would be the Guzzi. I've not had a set of PAGT2, more of a Michelin fanboy, and after having a set of PR6s, nothing else seems to come close

The weather forecasters predicting "a wall of snow" and blizzards when apparently parts of the east side of the country might get 1 cm. FFS.

One reason I have a deep repugnance for mainstream media and pathetic twitter style journalism. It would appear, Clickbait scaremongering is a requirement of the job now. 🤬🤣

  3. I don't think this will interfere with our travel plans but, mindful of Chunnel/Ferry crossings, next year Germany are hosting the Euro's, kicking off 14th June - 14th July, then, Paris are holding the Olympic games 24th July - 11th August, followed by the Paralympics 28th August - 8th Sept, and as always, the TDF kicking off 29th June - 21st July. I think its either an early June trip or another September quick blast might be in order for me.

  4. I pulled up to the first pump at our local petrol station, I got out of the car just as some entitled little shite shouted ' don't be a complete tw4t, why are you not moving to the next pump'.  I just ignored him and carried on.

He waited patiently and it didn't take him long to apologies after he had a lesson on how to fill a car with LPG from the only LPG pump on the forecourt. 🤣

According to Google, the nearest motorcycle parking to the Academy is a mile away at Chepstow St.

    Does anyone know anywhere closer?

It is roughly 4 small motorcycle bays and It isn't secure parking either at Chepstow Street. I know because its close to Peveril of the Peaks 🤣a boozer owned by one of the wife's relatives. Can you not park in front of the academy in one of the cycle bays, as long as it doesn't say 'for cycles only'. I have done this at St Peters Square, down Mount Street (but not left it there for long, also put a cover over it). Unfortunately, I don't think the city and its mainstream parking sites cater very well for the motorcyclist.

Well im surprised they haven't shoved the emissions side argument of that yet (all doing a slower speed) just to enforce it and push aside the possibility its not revenue driven. 😅

We have the clean air zone coming too and that is all revenue driven, all in the name of sustainability, of what I might ask.

  7. Its about time cameras like these are actually put to good use instead of unscrupulously used as a revenue collector.

Due to the amount of car crime where I live, we have campaigned for surveillance/CCTV cameras located at certain access and exit routes in the area. Both the police and local council are not interested. We have a large neighbourhood watch group on Whatsapp and now share Ring door bell footage and other home CCTV footage whenever someone reports an attempt or theft of a car etc. So far, the evidence we have provided has lead to one arrest. We report every incident to the police (for what it is worth) however, in doing so, my house and car insurance has doubled 🤣 you couldn't make this shit up.

My father was the founder of the Friends of Real Lancashire, campaigning to reinstate the historic boundaries of the county palatine.  We always have hot pot and a party on Lancashire Day. Sadly he died last Christmas so this was our first event without him.

Myself and a couple of my Warringtonion friends still refer ourselves as Lancastrians, even though we are supposed to use Greater Manchester for administrative purposes, I still put Lancashire on my postal address. I loathe using Greater Manchester.
