Yep, its that time of the year, I need to put the thermal liner back in the jacket and change to my winter gloves. The pesky gritters were out tonight too

There is always the well known auction site for old military/navy gore-tex clothing to go over your bike gear.

Grass Roots Rugby on Sunday, 4th Round of the Lancashire Cup, followed by a couple of sherbet's in the bar afterwards

Oh FFS. We're nearly in December, don't be having any silly ideas of a winter tour.

That's plain crazy. Fair play to you though, you kept plugging at it and did well to pick up the behemoth as many times as you did.

I use XCP, it usually takes a few washes before the need to reapply, I use their degreaser to clean the bike in the spring. But until then its Just a cold water hose down in winter once the bike has cooled down.

Textile kit over my thermal base layers/long johns, accompanied by a heated gillet and heated gloves, neck buff and skull cap or balaclava, helps to keep the lining of my lid clean and mi yed warm.

Between the football on Saturday and Rugby on Sunday, I will find some time to call at the cemetery with some flowers for my folks. before heading off to the Sportsbike shop in Preston.

It was all sounding good until you mentioned the 'Hardly Ableson' but you pulled it back with Suzi.

The adventure lid does have far better visibility, once on my way home from watching the SSDT & Pre 65 trials, I was heading south on the M6 and travelling on the speed limit, I did a shoulder check, and in doing so the peak was caught by the wind & turbulence, I thought it was going to rip the helmet off my head .

That sounds Phlegming awful. Apparently there's a cold and flu virus running rampant across the country.

Looks like you have your own Merseyside posse already

Although I own a peaked helmet, I never wear it on the road, its intended purpose was to protect you from the shite thrown up from the bike in front when they power out of the turn, tilt your head down to stop all the crud hitting your goggles or visor. As I don't really go off road as such, I see no need to wear one, each to their own tho.

Long awaited, new shop opening on the 6th November. Just what we needed a decent shop supplying good quality gear. I think a ride over is inevitable next weekend.

Next year I will be taking my tent, however; after the 633 mile ride, the first nights accommodation will be a Hotel, then decide where to go from there.
-
Next year will be an Iron Butt Tour. Day 1 will be a Big Ass Ride to Langres then 4 Days camping around the Swiss/French Alps, weather dependant
Why am I getting wet

Really? I would never by any Oxford product again, The Rianseal kit I had was absolutely useless and the Oxford Mondial Advanced kit was just as bad, had to send the kit back twice, I gave up in the end and now just use it for summer use. Its no use in anything more than a light shower.
