  1. Euro Jeopardy'. Starting to think its going to be too late. So my dates for heading off on the bike are being pushed back even further. Its now looking like the 18th September before I can head off to either the Vosges or Eifel/Black Forest. I'm my worst enemy, leaving everything until last minute. Need to get my act together, I've left it until the first week of Sept before and enjoyed the wine festivals, but never left it this late. Here's hoping for an Indian summer. Going it alone again :crybaby:, wife will spending her time between work and minding the grad children. :thumb:

Lille doesn’t have a requirement for a Crit’air according to the RAC site

    RAC Info

In many French Cities it is now mandatory. I have read if there is a classified pollution leak (as the French call it) in Lille, any vehicle without a sticker or above Euro 4 will be banned, as for just transiting through on the motorway or bypassing is a different matter. I am planning to go to Strasbourg who require a Crit Air.

I've never been to the Scoth Piper though we used to live not far away. Wednesday evening is my sailing night so not much chance of getting there during the summer. Do they meet over the winter?

Old Stores bike night stops in the winter I think.

It used be be on Tuesdays, unsure what day it is on now, or even till when.

Not that we saw, but it was a first for us. We did used to know the guy who put on the food with the scouts. It was a good fundraiser for them.

Embarrassed to say, it was probably 16 years ago when I was last there. We used to go to the Hen & Chickens in Melling too. I must do better but I don't get out much these days.  :violin:

Much wider than the old one, but Mrs Fiddlesticks wishes it be known that it was bought for its depth, not its width.

Went for a test ride to the bike night at Lydiate. Good turnout, including a few who thought doing two-up wheelies at speed down the road was a good idea. Takes all sorts to make a perfect world, my gran used to say.

Well, the seat received a glowing report. And 9 days for a 24 hour delivery is not too bad, by Evri's standards. Alls well etc...

I used to go to the Scotch Piper years ago. Are they still doing brews and burgers? I recall a strong police bike presence some years ago due to the fact bikers and their wheelie antics on the road at the front.

Same applies to imported cars that are pre 2006, Japan had been well under the ulez limit with petrols well before 2006, it's a bit harder but doable

Yep. My 2006 Toyota 3.0L V6 gas guzzler is compliant, but I have no intension to drive anywhere near the shithole Londinium  😂

  7. I have some custom fit guards and IMO they are Shite. I don't like the plugs that completely fill your ear. I found the Auritech ones the most comfortable and quietest. Unfortunately I cant find them, so now use the Auritech universal.

    At present is management.

    So far this week:

    - First 10 hour shift, meal break outside 3 hour window 15 minutes late away from work which is about normal,

    - Advanced warning if not compliant with uniform we will get immediate verbal warning (reminder came complete with quotes from disaplinary policy), to be honest this was our line manager quoting instructions given to him,

    - 10 hour shift turned into 10 hour shift with no break,

    - 10 hour shift turned into 12 hour shift however we where given meal break and it was in the allocated 3 hour time slot, getting reports of some teams being told to break. In some quite firm/ rude manners.

    Prior to this

    - I have had to apologize for raising to management the problems caused by working on the hottest day off the year 29c with no air conditioning on vehicle.  This was after 7 hours with no break or access to additional water - my behaviour by raising issue was unacceptable. We just had to get in with job.

I am guessing higher management are due checks and inspections again.  Last time they got pulled up for how they treated staff, so they are trying to improve things for us!

I like my job but the way we are treated is appalling.

    When's your parole 😂

Texas were pretty good - at least the hour I watched on iPlayer

I thought they were really good, our local lad Rick Astley played a belter too, or so I thought. It was also heartwarming to hear the crowd sing with Lewis Capaldi, showing empathy and support to a young man struggling with his mental health. I thought Lizzo stole the show 😱
