  1. Flask is an essential for the wife and I Sounds like a great ride out gerontius beats us all with that journey!
  2. This would be better than a standard cover but it's all down to space and budget I guess. I had my Chinese 250 before my garage I kept it covered well with Acf and no rust issues. As someone else has said if applied correctly and reapplied rust inhibiters will work with a decent cover. Best protection is a heated non damp garage or shed just depends how far you want to go etc, a standard cover and decent care will be sufficient it's just the issue of battery care through the winter. Some oxford covers have a clear panel and you can hook up a solar type charger underneath.
  3. Acf50 or an equivalent along with a bike cover is your best friend if you have no storage in order to keep them in fine fettle.
  4. I'll be looking out as we sometimes get a few on their way through or refueling at Halfpenny Green. I remember when I worked at Kidderminster a few years back the b17 making a low pass. The display Eurofighter was doing circuits over Bridgnorth the other day most likely practicing
  5. I nearly dropper off whilst watching the England Italy match last might. However it was played local to us at Wolves. Interesting post on Facebook Italian team did some training at the local council community pitch. Least some of the local kids got to see some of their footballing heroes. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Streetlifersofstourbridge/permalink/1655917601454991/?sfnsn=scwspmo&ref=share
  6. Still a great looking naked bike looks like there's a lot of interest hope you get what you want for it.
  7. I'm excited for you I'm guessing the photos will get better as the journey progresses. Can't.knock a premier in breakfast tho! My mate Pepa in Czech Republic is on a tour with his friends currently, not sure where but normally involves Austria, Croatia or Italy.
  8. Work tends to get in the way of most things!
  9. I might put some keis heated clothing on my Xmas list!
  10. Even in the winter in crap weather its invigorating blows the cobwebs away
  11. Just chopped in a couple of digital Bridge cameras and purchased a used Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7 mirror less camera. I'm thinking health wise I need a new hobby while I'm not feeling too good so thought why not a bit of photography!
  12. We went last in October and went to the magpie the fish and chip were pretty amazing. A walk up the Abbey but sadly the smokehouse wasn't open the day we took a walk up, did sample some of the kippers at a nearby pub tho!
  13. Pop Into whitby one of my favourite UK destinations!
  14. All adds up over the year like you say. I can get over 60mpg on my Africa twin on a good run. Managed 370 miles out of a tank last month which was really good.
  15. Good luck and look forward to seeing the photos!
  16. If theres nothing particularly difficult would that not mean it's easy I'm guessing if it's not particularly difficult everyone would pass. I have a driving refresher at work every 5 years that's not a given that I will always pass!
  17. Best of luck on your hunt for it. Nothing worse than someone just taking your pride and joy which I'm sure you worked hard for.
  18. A digestive can be used as a biscuit or is a good substitute for a cracker too.
  19. I'm making a conscious decision to ignore certain posts on this and other threads now in the hope certain people will stick to YouTube for their advice which is the holy grail and cannot be disputed
  20. Enjoy and take it easy!
  21. Thank you gents I've been told it might not be a long wait which is good 6 weeks. On the flip side work were not too supportive I've managed to find a more sedate job within the same organisation as I won't be able to pass the physical yearly requirement on the shirt term. More importantly I'm hoping getting back on the big Africa twin when healed won't be an issue as its the perfect bike for me. A routine Dr appointment picked this up last year just the wait for tests took the time. GPs didn't properly manage a genetic issue for the last 15 years which led to this. I know there is a lot in the press about Dr's dishing out statins, however when you get Into your 40s I'd strongly suggest a check up if you have a family history and get some effective meds early doors at 46 I shouldn't be I this position but at least it can be sorted raised cholesterol and blood pressure were not properly addressed in my case even though they knew!
  22. Hoping to take the bike out for a shortish spin after work tomorrow. Had a chest infection which is lingering and an angiogram last week so had to wait a week to get out after that and I'm gonna have a triple heart bypass soon so want to try and enjoy some time on the road as it will be 3 months post op before I can get back out on the road
  23. Well done well worth the effort mate
  24. Hopefully your International licence will cover you as not here for more than a year. As said check the gov website and hopefully you can get out and ride and enjoy the roads
