  1. A short ride out just to blow away the cobwebs and stress today. Couldn't stop off at the local airfield today as it was closed off the secret squirrels landed for a while. Still nice to get out for a bit
  2. It's worth the investment if you are hanging onto it and ride it a lot. After all the purchase price of the tracer is good sounds like a great investment to me. My tracer I part ex's is now up for sale at Sutton's in Bromsgrove 10k miles but in mint condition. I'm already putting the miles on the Africa Twin now
  3. I'm miles from you in the West mids but hopefully wil be visiting. Friends in the Croydon area soon. I'm happy to meet up for a brew ace cafe or somewhere like that. I know it's a bit gimmicky but I used to work nearby so sometimes trundle there
  4. Might try running mine off frosty jacks it's quite cheap !
  5. In the paint protection thing I've just had a wrap type paint protection on the tank of my Africa Twin adventure sports. Having the tank bag and noticing the style and size of the tank would mean the paint on the sides too would most likely get scratched I had the tank covered. Apparently if I do get any scratches it should self heal with hot water poured over it. I'll use acf for the vulnerable bits I did give it a blast over with an air sprayer and acf on purchase and will have the usual applications over the winter.
  6. I had 13k on mine when I sold it with lots of 2 up journeys and was still on the original chain. Yes good maintenance is the key, I just had a couple of tight links that I was able to free up. Cleaned it with paraffin and used decent lube too
  7. You should be proud of your work looks amazing !
  8. Thanks for sharing that, a great video. Apparently there was a great view of the strawberry moon in Iceland too, not for us so great to see it!
  9. That looks great I'll have to take a look at that great to give some new products a go! I usually go over with the rhino shine after I've dried the bile with one of those pet driers.
  10. Have you tried rhino shine for getting the blackness back I've found it about the best and a big 5l container has lasted me 3 years and I've still got well over half left.
  11. It's a minefield every year we all have this same issue but like in your case it's worth the time to save a bit of cash.
  12. Well the AT has had a good wash I covered it in acf upon purchase and have covered over 600 miles l. 1st service in and a good clean today. I've got used to the new bike surprisingly quick even with all the extra gadgets and not as heavy feeling as I imagined so far so good.
  13. I've got a lot of Oxford gear and have to say it is good value. My heavyweight winter stuff is spada and I have to say it keeps me dry and warm even in the depths of a cruddy winter.
  14. As already said it's hard to say one brokeray give one a good price and not another there's lots of factors. The comparison sites generally have worked out better for me
  15. I saw a group of about 20 of these the other week at caffeine and machine in Warwickshire in every spec they do. They looked really good quality. Hopefully they will be if a similar quality to the 650s rather than the Himalayan. I know they seem low on power but as a little back road cruiser I'm sure these will be lots of fun. The tripper sat nav is a nice touch too.
  16. May be a common issue. There are quite a few herald, mutt and sinnis forums which may be able to help. All those bikes run off the same Suzuki gn/gs type engines
  17. Great route that. We went from West mids side through the Shropshire hills to Wales on Sunday, plenty of variations to end up on the Welsh coast for us with some great roads
  18. Is that close to the island of Sodor? Choo Choo!
  19. Looks a great route I'm hoping to do a lakes ride out at some point this year. I'll keep myself content with a shorter run out to the Derbyshire peaks in the coming weeks !
  20. A ride from the black country, into Shropshire into Wales and the elan valley finishing up at the seaside for fish and chips! A first decent ride out with the other half on the new AT which has been surprisingly easy to get used to.
  21. Just settling in with my new ride a lot different to my tracer 900 I thought it would take some getting used to but I have to say no issues and very happy.
  22. Looks great and the weather is perfect for some long rides out. I'm just getting used to my new Africa Twin different to my tracer in many ways but all good at the moment
  23. I had one of these when my 900 tracer went in for its service last year really great light bike lots of fun to be had!
  24. Not sure what improvement the tracer 9 is with the semi active suspension and that takes more weight too. But if your doing a lot of 2 up I think it's not quite good enough
  25. It should arrive next week, I'm guessing I'll miss that silky smooth flexible triple but I'm just hoping it will be better for the touring. I'll post an update on here when we have done our first 2 up distance ride. I have a decent phone sat nav mount for the tracer which you can have if you need it. It fits into the screen adjuster it's been great
