1. Didn't we have the same question last week? Try: https://monimoto.co.uk/the-smart-tracker-for-motorcycles/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpsXM-auC4AIVT7ftCh1jIgr-EAAYASAAEgL4NfD_BwE
2. Do it on a piece of carpet at home to practice. Likely to cause much less damage.
3. Can't get out much then if you only ride on dry days in Wales Brings me memories of a fortnights caravan holiday we had in Orielton area about 50 years ago. It rained solidly for 11 days non-stop. One day dry then rained continuously until we gave up and went home. Never been back there since.
4. Hello and welcome James . Any bike you choose for today will not be the final one you end up with. Go for what suits your purpose now and then part exchange it when you move to the A licence. Personally for commuting I love the ADV style bike as it enables you to look above the traffic and filter (with care) easily. Crouched down on a sports bikes would not suit me, but then I'm of an age where the knees aren't what they used to be. The F700GS would hold its value as would any Japanese bike. Don't go down the route of Chinese bikes if you are likely to swap in the near future as they lose a lot of their value quickly.
5. are you going to do that in the shop before purchase?
6. Westbeef which indie do you use?
7. You aren’t a proper biker unless you’ve dropped it at least once. Oh and have some metal body parts.
8. The previous garage is no longer there, presumably because he was undercharging and couldn't keep that business model going.
9. filtering up the inside is too close to wing mirrors for my liking, unless you are doing it to turn left. Watch this and learn: "> MCRider has a vast set of very good motorcycle training videos. No point in being 100% right if you are pushing up the daisys
10. Do what the service book says. It says it for a reason and you would invalidate any warranty if not followed.
11. Oh dear. Glad you are OK, bikes are easily replaced. First rule of filtering is that you need to be aware of what others are doing at all times. But you know that now. The insurance companies will probably go for 50/50 unless the police think you were riding dangerously, though they will probably not get involved as you "have learnt your lesson". Always difficult at junction but you could/should have expected a vehicle to turn across your path and be prepared to stop. Often hint is gap appearing in cars ahead of you with the cars allowing a space for vehicle to turn across, especially in queue of traffic.
12. There are loads of videos on YouTube showing how to wash and winterise your bike. The main thing isd to get it very clean, thoroughly dry and then protect with ACF-50 or XCP (i might be wrong on the initials of the last one). Also make sure chain is well lubed. I've gone over to a Scottoiler to see if that is better than doing it every 200-300 miles. So far no complaints.
13. Well as I already have compressor, paint gun and everything else it actually uses far less ACF-50 than using the supplied sprayer and rag and brush. It is also far quicker and provides a better coverage.
14. Hello and welcome
15. See other thread
16. Act-50 applied with a compressor supplied paint sprayer does a brilliant job and uses very little product to get a great coverage. Make sure you cover up the brake callipers and all rubbery bits.
17. Hello and welcome. Alarms are a mixed blessing and a right pain if they go wrong.
18. Just to let you know that I’m innocent.
19. hello and welcome
20. Or if you want to spend lots of money for a really sophisticated device: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/341331
21. A couple of hundred miles on the bike and they will be nicely worn in .
22. Oh no! you will have to use it as an excuse for another ride out and do them again.
23. Yes, use them. I wouldn't use a sanding machine though to scuff them up.
24. Sounds like you need to get your equipment and wiring PAT tested.
25. Looking at other bikes is pretty normal. I do the same with cars and bikes
