1. Funnily enough I dont carry straws around with me, remiss of me I know. Garages dont have straws anymore and everyone’s ditching them for being environmentally unfriendly so basically I’m blaming the new responsible society for me spending cough cough amounts on a new helmet. Oh yes.
2. I’m switching to the flip front as I can be completely dehydrated and still ride past a petrol station rather than stop and get a drink because I cant be bothered to remove my helmet! Tried tipping the water in sideways once.. not my brightest moment.
3. I too have succumbed to the call of the Neotec 2 Its on order, deposit paid just the eye watering balance to pay when I go to collect it. Think best pop into Cheddar ales next door to pick up some anaesthetic for after Ive paid! It better live up to expectations....
4. Oh dear, not chain snappy?
5. Nope never had a parcel withheld. Had a letter saying I owed some but never withheld, maybe its a new thing?
6. I was thinking that!
7. Lol. The reading glasses are upon me as I have found myself moving print towards the window for better light! Cataract surgery is phenomenally effective and I wouldnt hesitate to have it if needed. The deterioration tends to be slow so you dont realise what youve lost and then taa daa- its back! The analogy I always used was its like a car windscreen slowly getting dirtier and you can still see until eventually you realise you need to clean the windscreen and blow me down everything is sharp and bright again! Worth it. Speedy23 glad you shared a good experience, most people are petrified and after its done theyre not sure what they were worried about! Its a lovely surgery for me to have been a part of.
8. Mississippi Bullfrog It is likely residue from the cleaning fluid causing the problem, if it’s strong enough to kill bacteria it’s not really surprising so many people have a problem with it. Opticians (generally they’re not even opticians doing the contacts) do not seem to recognise the large number of people who fail to get on with contacts due to allergy and dry eye. If you get red eyes (past the initial week or so) here’s how to rectify the problem. Rinse off all cleaning solution with saline eye drops (never tap water) before you put them in. Put a saline (or other contact lens compatable) drop into the centre of the lens before putting it in your eye (many people scuff their eye as they try to put them in). If your eyes are still red you may well have an allergy in the preservatives in the eye drops your using for cleaning (even the large bottle of eye drops claiming to be preservative free have a preservative in them that can irritate before they break down) so you would need to switch to completely preservative free drops. Something like these- https://smile.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Clinitas These ones are particularly handy as they reseal so last a lot longer and can be easily carried. Many people who regularly use normal eyedrops and cleaning solutions go on to develop a problem with preservatives. If you start off comfortable and then find things starting to smart that maybe an indication of dry eye. Just stick a drop in every now and then. Or as youve said give up and go with your glasses!
9. That is possibly the most "useful" reason for me taking video when out and about I've had yet! Sadly I deleted my mass of pointless videos when I filled up my hard drives and needed space to download civ 6... Thanks to buying many more hard drives I now have tons of space again. So I might take some more when I'm off in a few weeks time. I was thinking of going for a ride around the cairngorms if it was dry. That little commuting clip was me just testing out settings for the gopro when I first got it. I'm not a fan of the fish eye look, so that setting is the one I've stuck too. Still wide, but hardly any distortion. It’s good and I’d like some more!
10. I think youve hit upon something here. I often have boring tasks that I have to remain focussed on and music with riding in the baclground (where your not waiting for some disaster to happen) is just the thing to allay the boredom without distraction. It reminds me of bars in the alps where they having skiing/snowboarding on the TVs while musics playing. Don’t suppose youve got an hours worth of this stuff have you?!
11. Yep is sure is, the newer you are the more marvellous it is! I tend to aim for the beginning days of the show- staff aren’t jaded and everything’s in stock.
12. Love it. I can see why they caused such excitement when they landed now. Didn’t someone print a house?
13. SometimesSansEngine Fair point! Bender Never!! Just pure woman. Anyways I need it in my arsenal for child protection services
14. @goat is this why you did your America trip thread? From onsea’s .gov.uk link- Journey Logs If you wish to transport the species below to another country on journeys over eight hours, you must complete a Journey Log - part of which needs to be submitted and approved before the journey can begin. The species are: cattle sheep goats pigs unregistered domestic equidae The purpose of a Journey Log is to ensure such journeys are properly planned, with the required rest stops along the way, and without exceeding maximum journey times. You need to submit the first section of your Journey Log to the AHVLA Office where the journey will begin. A copy of the completed log must be submitted to the same office within a month of the journey’s completion.
15. Wow that’ll have to be one committed dog owner!
16. With the fast progress you’ve made the TMBF Via superbike will be ready in under 12 days!
17. I didn’t look at he price how much is it?
18. @mikestrivens Hmm I’m at the end of episode two and getting that impression!
19. Great write and great pics. Thankyou. I was going to watch the next episode of Bodyguard on the iPlayer but that was much better. It’s made me want to go and look myself.
20. What mikestrivens and goat said is spot on. In April I finished up 20+years as an ophthalmic nurse at Bristol Eye Hospital so I’m not talking out of my hat. You will be able to get contacts. Sometimes it takes a bit of mucking around to find what best suits you. Dailies are by far the most popular with good reason- no messing around with cleaning solutions etc. Once you’ve cracked the contacts you won’t be interested in the helmets your currently looking at because every helmet will be an option but most likely you won’t notice your helmet because you’ll be too busy browsing all the sunglasses you can now buy without a thought!
21. I wonder if there are any rules about people being towed in wheelie bins?
22. You have to buy a house there. “You are?” “I am Rae of Rae Street” Do it.
23. This is not one for the catholics out there but if you like that quote you should watch Stephen Fry Vs the Catholic Church. It’s long so the highlights are probably a better bet.
24. This needs a photograph. That's a phenomenal layering system. When it’s cold enough I’ll get a photo- not taken by me of course because my arms can’t bend that much with that many layers on Only drawback is you risk getting shot when the suit comes off and people see all the wires and battery packs strapped to you, Ive had a few panicked looks outside the supermarket!
25. Or perhaps this (sorry I know it’s the hatemail) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2805842/One-man-Harley-Brad-Bakelar-Reno-rides-motorcycle-companion-Moki-five-year-old-Goldendoodle.html
