  1. 38?!?! That’ll explain why there’s still a lot of Guinness in the fridge!
  2. The horse n cart yes, not pulling in to let traffic pass... also annoyingly yes. Still a nob though.
  3. First time they’ve lost at home to Scotland in decades
  4. The horse and cart driver that looked behind him and saw the ENORMOUS queue of traffic snaking back miles behind him and carried on for miles more (passing stopping places) at 8-12mph. I eventually made it to the front but was still stuck cos the traffic was flowing in the opposite direction and the only way round would have been loud and fast rather than wide n slow. Thought about it though grrrrr.
  5. And completely against all the forecasts the sun came out for a prolonged period so ran some errands on my bike. Marvellous
  6. Kinda mohawked the dogs. Me finding lockdown boring? Nooooo...
  7. Right off the wash n dry the dogs. Saves a pretty penny but my god it’s a boring job. Laters.
  8. Love that ad and the tune Whatever’s Comfortable
  9. That’ll be me. Broken for two weeks now. Repair man returning Tuesday with parts for dishwasher and washing machine, including labour... £242
  10. The SOLD SOLD SOLD is the aviator hotel in the UK. My bad, taking the thread off at a tangent
  11. I really like how the black and white one makes the building look. Nice. Reminds me of the nursing accommodation in Guildford.
  12. Judging from what I’ve seen come out I’d say probably both. The semi circular shaped white and reddish brown lumps were too big to have come from those smaller diameter pipes and I’d guess were large fat deposits built up around a main drain. They looked like someone had taken a mould of a large tube and broken it, they were pretty big. But the thing that appeared after a gurgle and the water suddenly running free I can only describe as a looking like a large grey turd, I know it can’t be (different drainage) but that’s the only way I can describe it! My husbands grandmother lived here before us and the old kitchen held itself to the walls by congealed lard. Everything was greasy and she didn’t mind chucking it and anything else down the sink. I think (fingers crossed) the grey turd was it. It was the same colour as the stuff that you find in the trap and had a similar slightly smaller circumference than the white plastic pipes from the sink. There are 4 bends before it reaches the main drain which is far too many IMO. The second sink was blocked by a mini tennis ball that had floated its way up to an annoying place causing intermittent blockage! He always was a naughty dog
  13. The normal syringe style plunger, Aquablast, the plumber, 98% sulphuric acid and drain rods had failed so the new plunger is king round here! To be fair to Aquablast they were both running when they left, only lasted about an hour though before one of them stopped again. It had got to the point I was considering ripping up the floor!
  14. If the washing machine and dishwasher are still broken I’ll mainly be swearing a lot. The plumber is here at the moment because for reasons best known to himself he decided the tap that needed replacing (couldn’t turn the washing machine cold water feed off) would be best relocated slightly behind the machine, meaning the machine no longer pushes back against the wall and hangs out by about 20cm!! He knew this was wrong cos he did the job and scarpered. After much bullsh*t he is back On the upside managed to unblock the sinks. The new plunger is worth a tenner of anyone’s money and the 7,645 ratings giving it 4.5 stars which I assumed were bot generated must be true! Took the drain cover off- very satisfying watching clods of gawd knows what sluicing by. Even more satisfying seeing a whirlpool round the plughole, haven’t seen one of those since we moved here 20yrs ago!
  15. I thought about it when they were resurfacing the road outside my house but they made an appalling uneven lumpy job of it
  16. Need my driveway redone it’s degraded tarmac covered in loose gravel and a complete swine to turn a bike on but the idea of the hassle completely puts me off.
  17. Aww look how happy he is. Brilliant.
  18. Brrrrrr not something I’d want to take on- good luck
  19. Dont know why but I find the idea of you always carrying a chainsaw disturbing
  20. We have positive news, just no guarantees. I wouldn’t book/bet on anything I wasn’t prepared to lose on.
  21. Chance of ok weather here tomorrow morning, if so I’ll definitely be running some errands 🏍
  22. Yer, if your wanting to go away this year (and don’t mind risking losing the money) then I’d get on with the booking!
  23. Yes and no. You have to be certain the paints you are using are safe on plastic. Many are and some aren’t. Custom helmet painters appear to use a variety of paints eg One Shot, Montana, Molotov. Water based paints are fine and automotive paints are usually going to be compatible as they have to be able to spray bumpers and other car plastic. I contacted the manufacturer of the lacquer I wanted to use to double check it was safe, the other paints state that they are ok. Helmet manufacturers always say it’s a no no as they can’t guarantee shell integrity hasn’t been impaired by what you have done to it eg sanding or using the wrong paint. But this is my first go so what do I know?! I’ll report back at some point about how I ruined a perfectly good helmet
