  1. Spent large portion of morning messing around with damn washing machine. Can’t turn tap off to remove hose and check inlet/outlet (as advised to do by the red flashing lights on the machine). Removed large grey plastic tap head (at least 45yrs old) but can’t move the nipple with pliers either, might penetrating oil get it moving?
  2. I always wanted one of those potato peeling machines, I hate peeling potatoes! Do you use a particular type of potato?
  3. What happens at 5am in a chippy?
  4. Well it’s a bit of a hot potato the battery charger one isn’t it with some strongly held beliefs on both sides. The latest iterations supposedly take into account the “lazy” thing and allow discharging for a significant length of time before recharging in a pattern that gives the battery it’s longest possible life- so they say. I use them on every bike, time will tell if this is a mistake! One of my bikes has an alarm and a tracker and that seems to suck the life out of the battery.
  5. Thanks. It’s always on an optimate charger when not it use. The owners bypass code, a code to disable the whole thing? I have all the paperwork for the bike, receipt, alarm stuff etc so I guess it’ll be in there somewhere.
  6. I don’t really see how removing it can be worse? Might be worth replacing the battery.
  7. Is the mandatory 77 hours rest dependant on who youre working for, eg which country your employers based in?
  8. Yep I’m sure. I’m not a panicky person by any stretch of the imagination. Yes its an aftermarket Datatool alarm that the previous owner had fitted. Will definitely remove it but not til the insurance is up cos I don’t want to invalidate my insurance or pay them for the privilege of altering my policy, you know what they’re like.
  9. I know so little about it I can’t tell if you’re joking?!
  10. Do all electric cars charge themselves? ie is the energy of the wheels spinning used to recharge as you go? I appreciate it would be diminishing returns, just wondering if it was possible to charge and use a battery at the same time, or maybe they have two? As you can tell I have no clue how they work!
  11. I’ll be going for cremated and scattered. Cheap n easy, which is unlike me If the children want somewhere to whine they can buy a bench or plant a tree or something. So if I wanted to bury the dogs in the garden (after death ) what’s the law on that? I’ve got a feeling there’s something about watercourses?
  12. Nope. At some point some relative would likely turn up and probably want to come into the garden or house. My days of counselling others are done, dreary conversations about someone I didn’t know with someone else I don’t know wouldn’t be on my house hunting list.
  13. If you can find a yard or place use surveyors spray paint, you only need to mark the stuff out once and can then incorporate it into your ride on the way out or back, you’ll be doing it with your eyes shut!
  14. That’s a good plan. Would make 2021 a great year for you. Do you have cones or the like to practice your mod 1 manoeuvres? It’s worth the bother
  15. Sounds like a pretty good deal. Are they 4 long days? Still well worth it regardless.
  16. I don’t miss getting up at stupid o’clock one bit. If I can keep the routine I have after Covid buggers off I’ll be very happy- get up when you wake up and start work when you’re ready. Too good to last me thinks 6 days off sounds good though.
  17. Very sad. All that history gone.
  18. Jolly good. Probably busy with the motolegends sale
  19. Is @learningtofly still about?
  20. Thanks Jedibiker. I’ve got a good list of stuff to look at/do now!
  21. There are other people on here who are trying to get going so you have company
  22. I think I know this one... is it someone who’s a bit bored?
  23. Plastic surgery on a hand is unusual, burn? Heated grip friendly winter glove, I’m assuming they’re thin palmed? Interested to have a look if you have a brand or link?
