  1. I don't have an issue with people slagging down a particular brand, but tarring all with the same brush is not very sporting, it's like saying all german car drivers are w**kers because you had a smidsy with an Audi driver, my bike is chinese and have had no issues whatsover in the 17 months i have had it, yes i may have been lucky but many UM owners have had no issues either That's cos you're a sensitive soul who treats your Xena politely whereas most of us thrash the tits off our bikes.
  2. I think it's just the degree of horribleness.
  3. Hopefully sods law means it'll be sunny from now on then. Which is good for the rest of us. Hope it will be for all bikers but also for me, as ship is now in Liverpool and if doesn’t stay there it will be in Belfast, So still no cruises then? I'm supposed to be joining in Rotterdam around 18th then no doubt off to some West African hell hole.
  4. Yeah but it's titanium and looks a helluva lot better than the OEM.
  5. These rules (and by the way since when did the government have the right to dictate how you interact with your own family?) are just more bullshit from a bunch of f**k wits who shouldn't be running a whelk stall. There's so much utterly conflicting deal being put about that just makes no sense. TBH my family on a family level has pretty much given up on the government's crap. None of us live in Leicester but my daughter and her family do live in Barnard Castle.
  6. It surely was, and when I complained the next course was in Lowestoft which is possibly even worse!
  7. My Dad got a mobility scooter on Monday. When he first told me he missed out the word "mobility " and visions of him on a vespa or similar went through my head. Sadly it all became clear when he talked about keeping it in his bedroom. Still he's 90 next month and has been house bound for 3 months thanks to covid and he couldn't stand being stuck in the wee flat with my mother and no escape any longer so there you go.
  8. I dunno, as you are getting even older by the day the time may come when a wee step through scooter is all you can manage
  9. Had the new Metzler tyres fitted and so far they seem an improvement. I can't really do a fair comparison with the Pirelli Scorpions as they had over 8500 miles on them. What I did notice is that whereas the Pirellis would twitch on a damp white line even when new the Metzlers don't. They certainly gave the impression of being sticky from the moment I rode out of Chris Mullin's yard and I've done about 70 miles on them now.
  10. Dynaplug is what I have and although I've yet to use the plug facility I find the pump works very well off the bikes 12v system.
  11. what is included in this service Not sure but probably just oil and filters Plus brake and clutch fluids. As I remember valve clearance is on 9000 miles. Valve clearance is at 18000 miles and charges for that service are the wrong side of £500. As you say you pay for the stamp. Once it's out of warranty there's a guy in Cheltenham who specialises in Italian bikes and charges considerably less than dealers. There's a reason I don't get my tyres via the dealer etc. They are not cheap. Love the bike though.
  12. Same for me. Spent a week there on a course once. It were grim.
  13. Ducati quoted me £337 for a 2 year/9000 miles service. About what I expected.
  14. You are setting a pretty low bar there Stu.
  15. Does anyone go to Fleetwood out of choice?
  16. I think I'm pre-reg
  17. Maybe Dynax should change his user name to Zebedee. Mind you with Bridget and Xena(!) in the shed as well he's probably lost to all propriety.
  18. Well that caused me to lose any enthusiasm I may have had for the Marzocchi wheels for my bike. Well that and the 3500 euros they cost. I'll just stick with the original ones.
  19. It's supposed to be a classic. Not sure what it's a classic example of though. Definitely not my cup of tea but good luck to anyone who wants one.
  20. Well either Gloucestershire weather is worse than everyone else's or I had a dud cover. After less than 18 months the taped seams had all detached and it was leaking. I was sufficiently unimpressed that I opted for what may be a disposable cover. £30 every year isn't exactly going to break the bank. So far though after nearly 4 months it's still fine.
  21. I thought six was the swamp or at least resided there.
  22. No, nothing like that on Android phone or Amazon tablet.
  23. That's the one. Although the material is relatively thin it's proven to be robust enough to withstand gale force winds and it's more waterproof than the Oxford ever was
  24. I had an Oxford cover and it lasted barely a year. I got the Xtectem one in March. It cost a third of the Oxford and has been bought by a few of the guys on here. So far it has been fine.
