  1. Hope you make a good recovery in quick time.
  2. What crime have you committed to be sent there?
  3. As someone who can't carry a musical note in a paper bag I admit to looking at karaoke with deep suspicion and loathing. Always reckoned it was Japan's revenge for losing WW2.
  4. So-called help lines at banks. Operated if that's the word by so called AI which would be better named as AM where the M stands for morons. My dad has 2 cards he doesn't use but my mum used to use for online purchases. These had a balance on (less than £20 in total) which he wasn't aware of as he being blind he couldn't read the statements. Tried to solve it on line but ended up having to visit 2 separate banks in Blyth as none left in Morpeth. Even then I can't cancel the cards but at least they're now clear. Really boils my piss when I keep getting directed to online or phone banking for my dad when he can't use the bloody things. Even being able to talk to a human being might have been better.
  5. Who cares what other people think.? If you like it, buy it. 4 years into mine, still makes me smile and after 24000 miles has still not given me any issues.
  6. I believe British Enfield have some decent, short bikes and are cheaper than Triumph.
  7. Rode to Blyth where my mother is incarcerated and has gone happily bonkers. Boring ride though.
  8. Ditto.
  9. Bloody OPEC cutting production sent prices back up. Twats.
  10. Can't say I fancy being rear-ended in neutral. Get sent skittering into traffic with no control isn't going to end well. At least if I'm in gear I can have at least some control over my fate. Although to be fair by the time I realise the pillock behind isn't going to stop its probably too late to do anything other than kiss my ass goodbye.
  11. Rear so no chance of sneaking through. They're not road works either but permanent installations. "Managed" motorways.
  12. M1 isn't any better. Cameras all over it from A42 junction to M18.
  13. Prepped it for another slog up to Northumberland on Wednesday. May go up the west side and have a bit of fun on the Borders and down through Kielder or similar. Weather permitting. Hate the M6 between Birmingham and the Mersey.
  14. Yeah but you get pestered by amazon all the bloody time. Why I no longer have it.
  15. I use the subscription version purely because I can then play saved tracks when I'm not connected to Internet or a network like when I'm away.
  16. I use Spotify but any of the music streaming services will do. I use the paying version but they all have free versions. My wife reckons BBC Sounds is good for what she listens to and she uses the free version.
  17. Russians are claiming its a truck bomb. Bloody well timed explosion and can't see how a truck bomb could have dropped the road as well. Not that I know anything about truck bombs at all.
  18. The Cape Horners got nowt but their pay. No prize money there in the 1920's. Wouldn't have minded being the skipper on tea clipper in the 1860's especially if you were first into the pool of London and had your 10% share. There's a reason a lot of large old town houses in seaports where built by successful skippers.
  19. My first mortgage in the 80's was 15% and I remember being totally pissed off that after a year paying what seemed like every penny I earned on the thing the actual amount owed had gone down by about a pound. These days fortunately I am mortgage free so not directly affected by the current rises although if rates hit 6% I could actually retire on a reasonable screw.
  20. Rode mine down to Bristol to get Covid jab #4. Got a Flu jab as a bonus. Was expecting wet so went bundled up. Had bright sunshine albeit windy as hell. Only wet I got was from the sweat pouring out of me on way home it was so hot. Now absolutely peeing down. Wife's walked into town for shopping (2 miles each way). She'll be a bit soggy around the edges!
  21. Don't know about that. Just watched a YouTube video about the last of the Cape Horners. Now they had it hard and earned their coin (not that it was much).
  22. One program we do have which I absolutely love is Adobe Pro. Makes job soooo much easier.
  23. Get home from holiday and discover we've no water pressure so no washing machine, showers etc. Severn Trent are working on it but in the meantime we'll be a bit stinky!
  24. Our work systems are completely locked to a standard set of settings. We can't amend anything ourselves and to be honest I don't mind. It means that whatever ship you go to you'll find the same setup and can access the same data the same way. In the old days it was total chaos.
