Not sure why we need a debate or discussion about a hereditary monarchy (perfectly legitimate to have one but just seems a bit pointless) as that's what we have and the succession is automatic. Most people who aren't republicans don't care. I'd be interested to know what percentage of Brits are republicans; somehow I don't think it's the majority- if it was there'd be a much bigger groundswell of opinion against the monarchy than there is.

I am fairly old but in 1975 I was 18 and enlisting for my brief military career before I buggered off to sea, so not that ancient.

I quite like asparagus but probably not for breakfast. On a happier note No. 2 grandson was discharged from hospital today with the freedom to eat more or less what he likes. His request was for a rare fillet steak which he demolished in jig time. Stuff the vegans!

Ducati forum recommends strong bleach which I can't say I'm keen on. Autosol and a scouring pad and a bored hour or so is the best I've come up with.

To be fair my bike's stainless section does look like that. You can restore it with polish and a ton of work but in a few days it's back to being brown.

Rode it to two hospitals and gave myself a bit of a twitchy moment on a roundabout which I think had diesel on it.

Endless round of hospital visits I think. Grandson is doing really well and will be out soon. Mother isn't and is fading.

Everyone makes mistakes. In this case the biggest mistake was neither of their mothers used birth control.

The German 9 euro ticket (which was really good) was only for the months of June, July and August. Also you couldn't use it on the long distance inter City trains. Other than that it was brilliant.
