  1. Yes. Bloody autocorrect on my phone picked up the spelling from one of my contacts with the surname Brittain. I like it
  2. On ITV4 now. All I can say is Wow!!
  3. The weather is now looking better for tomorrow. Sunday looks a bit of a washout. I would be up for moving the meet to tomorrow. How is everyone else fixed?
  4. A few years ago I arranged one of those free taster ride out's with a local observer. He turned up on his RT1200 and we had a chat and then discussed the route he wanted me to follow. We put our helmets on and I fired my bike up and waited for him, and waited. He couldn't get his bike started. Sounded like the battery was kaput. We tried to bump it couple of times and failed. He called his breakdown and I stayed with him for about an hour and a half chatting until they turned up. I never bothered after that
  5. Welcome back Phooey! Glad you're getting back on two wheels. That Gov website was interesting.
  6. I might be able to make this depending on weather. Anyone gonna be going down the A46 then either A1 or A15? Could meet up along the way.
  7. I'm really pleased the school turned things around for you. Brilliant that you've done the CBT and loved being on a bike. After all, that's what it's all about. Having fun!! I bet you've still got that big smile on your face Good luck with the rest of the tests and enjoy your 2 wheeled journey.
  8. Just looked at Hungry Hogs opening times and it’s closed on Sunday.
  9. You just reminded Hoggs, I’ve used these before http://www.find-a-part.com Just put your reg in and tell them what you need. I used them for a right hand side calliper for my 600RR.
  10. Got you by the balls if you need them...
  11. The problem is the Hazard Perception test is primarily aimed at learner drivers/riders. As an experienced road user you should spot the hazard well before a learner would as you know from years of experience all the clues that lead up to a potential hazard. This means that you will usually click before the scoring window starts. As everyone has said about clicking a couple of times, do so. Click when you can see a hazard developing (experience) then click again maybe a second later (inexperience) Try it on the practice clips and see if your score improves. The best DVD to use is here. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018-Driving-Theory-Test-Hazard-CD-DVD-Official-Highway-Code-Book-L-/121056148533 When I was a Driving Instructor I advised all my pupils to buy this. Good luck.
  12. I did the RHRS in 2007. You get a classroom talk then you get kitted up. They show you how to hang off a stationary bike and then you get assigned a coach who basically pulls you round the track as fast as you can go. You got 3 x 15 min sessions. It was over by about 12:30 I've just been onto the site and it look like they've changed things a bit since I was there so you might get a bit more track time, although it doesn't state how long the 3 sessions are (bit crafty that)
  13. I read the OP as Hayley’s partner has passed away.
  14. I’ve ridden Donnigton and Cadwell and that track just looks soooo smooth. Looks like you had a blast!
  15. As long as you refrain from swimming naked in ponds, you’ll be fine.
  16. Try to find a narrow road with the worst camber you can find and practice on that. If you can nail those conditions then the test centre will be a doddle. Keep the revs up as this balances the bike and control speed with rear brake. Always look where you want to go. This is all easy for me to say as I am laid in a nice warm comfy bed and not at a test centre getting all nervous a wanting to pass ‘cos it means everything to me. As an ex driving instructor I’ve seen what you’re going through too many tines I lost count. It all boils down to how you personally deal with the stress of exams/tests. I’ve had pupils go up for test that were excellent and I thought would fly through and failed numerous times because they hated the test situation. I’ve taken others that were OK and had a good chance of passing if they keep their cool and they’ve sailed through because they took the test in their stride. It’s funny what nerves can do to people. Some thrive and some dive and sometimes you don’t know which camp you’re in until you experience it. All the best for the next one. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. You can always go again. Just go and enjoy yourself.
  17. As above, Jacket over gloves if wearing textiles. Gloves over jacket if wearing leathers. You’ll be hard pushed to get your leathers over gloves as leathers are a tighter fit by design than textiles. Textiles are made with water in mind, (although some should never be let near water for all the good they do) so are a bit looser. Jacket goes over gloves so the water can just run off sleeve. Same theory as textile trousers over boots. You want the water to run off the leg, no into your boot
  18. I think they should start the BSB season at least a month later. This happens pretty much every year and you would have thought they would have learned by now. I know they push it as a spectacle the paying public and after all it's a business they have to run and make a profit from, but it's just too dangerous for the poor guys that have to go and literally put their lives on the line.
  19. There you go https://www.google.co.uk/amp/variety.com/2018/film/news/mark-wahlberg-six-billion-dollar-release-1202716312/amp/
  20. Marky Mark already got his claws into that one.
  21. Yeah but Action Man is Remember the Eagle Eyes?
  22. Glad it only ended up being a minor spill and you are both OK. Loved watching that video. Some amazing scenery and roads!
