1. Hello gang, changed the rectifier and the battery, new battery reading 12v before turning on, 11.99 straight after turning on the bike and now five minutes later still twelve volts. Is that okay? I haven’t been able to get a charger yet for the battery. Bike is running but I don’t know if I have fixed the problem or not. Thanks for advice pictures to follow.
2. Trickle or not trickle? Is trickle charging only for when bikes are inactive for a while? Mine gets ridden most days.
3. Indeed. I want it to worth it I suppose. Cheaper is easier to manage but I am prepared to pay for something if it is worth it.
4. If I am going to buy a charger what do I buy? I would like to be able to buy in a shop? Halfords or Screwfix or some such? Or machine mart or something? I also want to spend almost no money
5. Hello groovy gang, do I have to charge a new battery? If I do I will have to buy a charger. Advice on both if possible please.
6. My regulator rectifier just went and that stopped the battery charging whilst running. Could that be it?
7. Thanks Car this morning to work was much less interesting. I think I will order today and hopefully be back on the bike by next week.
8. New probably cheapo manufactured one on eBay 18.99 Wemoto 65-85 pounds or second had original £30. What do I do? I shall also call m and p.
9. Regulator/rectifier is knackered according to breakdown people. She’s in the back of the van now. Just need to work out where to get a replacement from
10. I am sat in sainsbury cafe waiting for the breakdown people. Bike started fine, two minutes later I was going to fill her up but she cut out/stopped just before the pumps and would not start again. I can hear the solenoid but. I turning over, it did try once to turn over. I tried bumping it and it could not quite get going. Can Batteries just suddenly die?
11. Cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the fridge, cleaned the food larder/pantry. Sewed some chilli’s and tomatoes Busy domestic day. I tend not to ride at the weekend because I ride every weekday.
12. Roughly 1.22 a litre for unleaded, I think I pay 1.24 for the branded stuff.
13. Took the kids (5 and 3) to the allotment to spend some time there and have a breakfast picnic. They managed a couple of hours and we got quite a bit of the sorting done. Really happy that they are now both able to come without being permanently shepherded. Not sure about the rest of the weekend. My wife is off in that there London with her mates. Probably just Lego, walks and cooking and cleaning.
14. I’ve been to a few of those.
15. That is true of motorcycles in general for a lot of people. I use my bike for commuting everyday but if I had to I could manage without it and if necessary I could probably manage without vehicles. I don’t think bigger than a 125 is necessary but once is started travelling on fuel carriageways a lot it became obvious a bike that could at least keep up with lorries in crap weather or could keep up with lorries on back roads up hills would be super helpful.
16. I wonder if it is worth spraying anti-bacterial spray? Usually odours in fabrics are the bacteria aren’t they?
17. Nice one dude.
18. At the moment I’m south Brum and I commute to Wolverhampton or West Brom. I also sometimes commute to Streetly. There’s 30 metres of the bus lane on the A34 coming back from Streetly that is not for motorbikes which seems odd. Wolverhampton seems much less motorbike friendly than Brum. No free parking for a start!
19. Birmingham is mostly allowing the use of bus lanes for bikes and I do. Whenever I’m not allowed I do not, wherever I am. Mostly I can still filter and do not fancy a fine.
20. I would appreciate it if you did dynax Help me learn of this stuff works
21. Thanks for responses. Would process mean entirely empty tank to be able to take that off and apart?
22. This is what the Haynes shows...
23. Thanks fastbob what’s in clover in fixing it? JRH i look forwards to getting her a geared fifty in a little over a decade, if she want one :/)
24. That’s my wee lass, she is ace and I want her to grow up thinking that she can do this sort of stuff she loves it, mostly because she likes her overalls
25. Ok , must be entirely automatic . Do you have a reserve switch though ? Not that I know of, I have the lights blink at me to say I have low fuel and I go get some. I’ll go through the owners book and manual tomorrow to make sense of it. The air filter I will do once I take a load of fuel out by riding and I will take pictures of what I find when I get to it
