Provisional Licence query
davefly76 replied to Dav3y's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Strange. I passed my driving test in 1995 and pretty sure I had moped (under 49cc) entitlement but had to do the theory test to do my bike licence in 2010.. -
Provisional Licence query
davefly76 replied to Dav3y's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Your current driving licence acts as your provisional to be able to do the CBT but when you pass your mod2 test you will have to send the old licence away and change if for the newer 2 part photo version. -
Got my first 3 last weekend. Got to say thanks to the guy at Muckleburgh who helped me out with some cable ties when a bolt for the rear hugger decided to shear off! Appleton Water Tower The Lord Nelson, Burnham Thorpe Muckleburgh Tank Collection

And what bike are you planning on riding when you *eventually, pass??

Ashley Martin Memorial Ride 12th May 2013
davefly76 replied to Tango's topic in Cambs & East Anglia Rideouts and Meets
I'll be up for this Bob. -
I don't think you can have a ban AND points, it's either/or. Once the ban is over the conviction will stay on your licence for 4/5 years so you'll always have to declare it to insurers.

A bit late now but don't do anything more to the bike. Take it straight to where you bought it!

Instructor failure and mod 1
davefly76 replied to fromos's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Let me get this right. He told you to meet somewhere before riding to the test centre and he failed to turn up making you late for a test that wasn't booked? Have you got any receipts to say what you'd paid for? If not I would just write a polite but strongly worded letter to him asking for your money back on the test fee, and keep a copy of the letter that you send. If you don't get a reply, send another one. In the mean time, find a reputable school with reccomendations from other people, and book the mod 1 test yourself. -
Don't know about the paint codes but I imagine the painted sponsor logo's are painted at the factory, not the dealers. If you damaged it and wanted to replace a panel they would probably supply a new panel ready painted up. That's if you can still get them brand new..

Not sure how it's illegal, there are plenty of places for rent/sale that are advertised as retirement/over 55's only.. You could always advertise for "mature" students only.
-
How were you planning on getting the bike to your new place if the wheel did turn?? Get a mate to help by lifting the front wheel off the ground and get the bike in to the back of a van.

4 pack of regular Snickers for £1 at the moment in Tesco Dave..... I don't normally like Tesco, but on this occasion.. Sunday = fat Dave feeling sick surrounded by Snickers wrappers
-
I suspect that with food the reason there is less has something to do with European food and health legislation, hence why you can no longer get king size Snickers.. Which is a shame, I used to love them lol
-
Why name and shame? Just take it back to where you got it from, it's hardly their fault if its been manufactured poorly.

Visors (and their legality)
davefly76 replied to Ninereeds's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I don't know the law on tinted visors although some are marked as not for road use. Probably to save the manufacturer if anything was to happen.. Regarding wearing them at night, you would probably get a telling off from plod but then you only have yourself to blame. Would you honestly drive at night wearing dark sunglasses..? -
No, you can't. CBT restricts you to riding a bike of no more than 125cc.
-
I only watched 30 seconds of that vid and already I can see that his road positioning is all wrong! Taking into account that he's riding on the right he should approach right hand bends towards the left had side of his lane, and the opposite for left hand bends. Where he is positioned gives him far less of a view up the road and round the bend. How not go round a bend
-
Don't know about him but I shit my pants!

I'd never have guessed Bob I ended up going the boring way (A47) home, the wind was getting up towards Wisbech and caught a bit of rain just outside Kings Lynn.
