  1. I am self employed and a sole trader, although that doesn't mean I can't have a partnership with another person (I know, confusing!) The main difference as I understand between sole trader and a Ltd company is that as a ST I am wholly responsible for any debts that may occur if it all went wrong. Therefore, if I had property, shares, etc then they can all be taken to pay off any debts. With a Ltd Co it is only the business that will suffer, not any personal effects. In my situation my girlfriend has paid off her mortgage, but currently has no part of the business from a financial point of view. If I were to add her as partner to my business and then the worst happened her property can then be used as way to pay off some debt. When the time comes we will set up as a Ltd Co with us both named as directors which will protect her assets. So, really you need to work out what is best for you and your circumstances. I am lucky that my business doesn't require me to spend a lot on stock, equipment etc but if you need to borrow money or have a large capital lay out it may be better for you to start a Ltd Co from day one. There are loads of other differences such as Tax etc but the one I've mentioned is the most relevant to me at the moment. Oh, good luck!
  2. There is a pub near me called the three horseshoes. If I get a pic with that will I get points for three (tuns) and horseshoes? Or just horseshoes..?
  3. I went to the doctor complaining of hearing loss and he asked me to explain the symptoms. I told him Homer was the fat, bald guy and Marge has blue hair..
  4. I'd love to make it over one night but I have other commitments on Tuesdays
  5. Never ridden one, only ever seen one. I love them and if I could afford it I'd have one. I was talking to a chap I know today whose first bike after passing his test recently is a special edition AMG Diavel..!
  6. bull they came round and gave me a section 59 coz of an old lady Nothing to do with your riding then..?
  7. I'm parts supervisor at a Toyota dealership. Hobbies are martial arts, F1 marshalling, the bike, and generally being grumpy. Although I'm trying to fix that last one
  8. Any kind of disc lock or chain will act as a deterrent but if someone really wants your bike they will get it. I use a Xena alarmed disc lock which was about £35 (I got mine free with a magazine subscription ) and if I was that worried about it I would park it so everyone can see it and as close to CCTV cameras as I could.

  10. Don't Yamaha do them?? I would have thought its quite a popular accessory. Failing that you could always contact R&G and ask them..
  11. Looks like my plans have changed for tomorrow so I can't make it in time. Have a good ride out folks
  12. Is this still going ahead? Meeting at the marina for 12?
  13. They are meant to be used to warn people behind you that you are approaching a hazard.. Most people nowadays think that you can do anything and park anywhere but as long as you put your hazards on everything is ok.
  14. Certainly sounds like a relay issue. It could also be a sticky starter motor but if the relay is a common issue on that model I'd stick a new one on just for the sake of it.
  15. If you're meeting at the Marina I might come down for a ride out. What time are you thinking of leaving?
  16. What service did the Honda dealer do? If it was just a minor oil change and check/adjustment then they may have had no reason to remove the fairings or check the air filter.
  17. Sorry Tango, can't make this one which is a real shame as I haven't been out for what seems like an eternity
  18. What I do is a lot different to the track marshalls who have to do the training and get plenty of experience at smaller circuits and events before being able to do F1. I got in through a lad who I used to work with. Basically they were short of numbers and I said I'd give it a go, this year will be my 4th time of doing it. I think most people get in through someone else and because I've already been a few times I don't need to do any training but there is an NVQ course that you can do. It's mostly common sense and unless you're a complete fool anybody can do it although I have known there to be people that were useless, taken off their post and told not to come back.. I'm normally posted at a gate at the start of Hangar straight and my job is simple. Don't let anyone through it, or try and climb the fence etc Last year they were asking people that were interested to register on the Silverstone website and this year they have got a load of people called "race makers" who are helpers like they had at the Olympics doing various things.
  19. Nice! I work as a spectator marshall at Sliverstone for the British F1 Grand Prix. Well it's voluntary but we get a small amount so we can at least buy lunch.. Can't grumble though, I'm getting in for nothing and the camping is free
  20. My nob of the day goes to the person driving a silver Insignia that overtook me whilst I was doing about 70 on a straight section of single carriageway who then got held up by the train of about 4 cars just ahead of me They then decided it was a good idea to overtake those cars as we entered a 50 limit just before a village which is 30.. they then got held up just ahead behind someone who was doing 30 (I guess) and when they slowed to pull in to a driveway he overtook again! Me thinks he was in bit of a hurry.. Either that or he's just a nob!
  21. My name is Dave, I like the band Soulfly and I was born in 1976. Been using it on forums for years and was my first email address. Actually I just wanted Davefly but that was taken so I picked 76.
