  1. Damn!!! Garmin Zumo XT is 15% cheaper 70 quid saving is veeerryyyyy tempting Going to order fork fluid for the ST before riding season starts
  2. So you're Mr IceMan
  3. What that does is to reduce the amount of moist inside the car reducing fogging Same as opening the visor while riding
  4. While plugged in they will take power from the charger so the % in the battery is not affected. Because the car is warm when you start it the heater will take less power to keep the temperature. Most EV drivers make the mistake of turning the heating off when they start the car and turn it on again later because they are cold. that is a inefficient way to run an EV. Similar to home central heating. if you turn it off completely if you go out for a few hours, the amount of energy required to bring the temperature up to "normal" is greater than lowering the temperature from 20c (20 or whatever you have it set to) to 15c while you're away.
  5. Since I got my electric car I never scrapped my windscreen They have a timer that you can set that will heat up the car so when you get in it's nice and warm
  6. Very good morning all
  7. So, Some weeks ago I've added internal lighting. A LED strip just in case I had to open the trailer at night or in poor visibility. But I wasn't happy the way it was operated. Every time I wanted the light to be on I would have to use the switch in the light fitting. This not only means have my hands free and probably would forget to turn it off during the day when I wouldn't notice the light on. Or even closing the lid looking away from the trailer and forget to turn the light off. So I decided to add a fridge door switch that I have from an abandoned project. Added the toolbox I was looking for, this for tools, spare bulbs (mandatory in France) and to keep the battery for the lights. Quite happy with the end result. Photos with the light on and off The black and red cable you see is the charger until I get the solar cell. The cooling box is just for perspective, don't think I will be taking it for a trip I don't think I'll be adding a light sensor to only turn the light on when is dark.
  8. 2 words. No pillion.
  9. That's cheating. They have harnesses and helmets...
  10. yes, but 12 of them. not far off as ratio
  11. That's unfortunate.. Still prefer to have a decent amount of power between my legs.
  12. Sorry @Stu I don't agree. This is still engine size related
  13. A wee exercise for you... Put together all you consider essential for a 2 weeks trip. Then ask your mrs to do the same. then come back to me with the weight. Would be interesting to see the split like 10/90%
  14. 86 and 114 being 2/3 of kerbweight for total weight. unless your trailer is filled with helium or hydrogen (other light gases are available) I can't see how you can have the 86/114 as luggage allowance.
  15. I stand corrected. so you would have 62 kg available. that will fit the sleeping bags then
  16. You tell that to your insurance company...
  17. Correct, You would be looking at 175cc bikes to be legal. a 125 bike will be around 150 kg so you can only tow 100 kg. if the trailer weights 40kg then you're left with 60 kg. that's the missus toiletries bag.
  18. And ditch my beautiful carbon fibre one?? Are you insane???? Never had a bike under 750cc and no plans to do it. My criteria is, heavier bikes don't let you be a crazy tw@t going like a baboon on crack swerving between cars. And yes I've downsized from my BEAUTIFUL ST1300 for shorter trips got a VT700
  19. Not a 150kg trailer you can't. "When the trailer is loaded it must weigh no more than 150 kilograms or 2/3 of the kerbside weight of the motorbike - whichever is lighter." From gov.uk people
  20. Isn't obvious? Someone builds a 150kg trailer and goes on and on about a 5,000 miles trip in 2 weeks to Portugal. What else do you need?
  21. None of them appears to say that they took 2 weeks with 60kg of luggage.
  22. I'm interested in knowing how you do a 3,000 miles touring trip on a 125...
  23. Good morning everybody. First working day of 2021
