  1. I've been an Honda guy since my first bike and have no intentions to bulge from it. The first bike I had was an Africa Twin, superb bike for learning, very forgiving and teaches you hoe to use the brakes adequately. Then I had 2 VFR800. Really fun to ride, fast, comfortable for a sport tourer. When I past the speedy Gonzales stage I went for a Pan European, heavy when you need to move it by hand but in my opinion, one of the best for long touring trips. Because I want to use the bike for commute when the weather allows I got myself a Shadow 700, light good for trips around 100 miles, still good speed and handling. All this to tell you that greatly depends on what you will be using it for. Other things to consider is if you want to ad the advantage of fairings for wind protection or not. I would start with the budget first and see what are the choices available. then see what you really want it for and go from there. Edit: I have now the Pan and the Shadow together
  2. I was about to say the same as @XTreme
  3. The only reason why I didn't ditch broadband altogether is just because the hoose thermostat is connected to the WiFi together with the freeview box. 150gb a month on virgin is more than enough for what I need.
  4. Hello guys, Posting this so nobody else have similar problems. The background story Been with EE for several years but when the contract ended the price went from under £32 to over £41. EE couldn't be bothered to give me a courtesy call asking if I wanted to sign a new contract, just a wee letter saying that the broadband price was going up. Near the end of the contract I decided to look for a greener grass... The cheapest provider (you know me, always after a bargain) was a company called OneStream (OS). their price was a whopping 23.99 for the same speed so it was a no brainer. Or was it?... Nowadays broadband work similarly to energy supplier, you pick the one you want and the "winning supplier" will deal with the transfer from the "loosing supplier". Or at least is what you would think these cowboys would do. The service was supposed to start on the 10th but only started on the 16th. So 5 days on mobile data. The router arrived the day after the engineer visit so he couldn't install or test it. The only way to contact OS is by email as their webchat service is a joke and they are as helpful as fleas on a dog. The complaints department is operated by some idiot with the commercial awareness of a potato and if you think they will do anything helpful you will be as deluded as they are. Today, 29th I signed to another provider, only today because of the holidays. Going to raise a formal complaint with the operator later today. So my contract is in effect 13 days long. If you're thinking about changing ISP (Internet Service Provider) be aware that if the grass seems greener, probably is artificial. They all work on OpenReach infrastructure they they are all rated very poorly by costumers. I won't disclose which I've signed with because I don't want to be responsible for bad experiences. Nevertheless, I have now picked the highest rated ones
  5. With the risk of being once again thick as a bolder... Since when this thread is about where you muppets have been or nor?
  6. Spraying requires as dry air as possible. Ideally around 20%, 38-40% is the minimum advised by manufacturers but if you can have it lower then you should.
  7. I currently use waze as main satnav. Planning to get a farming xumo sometime next year if I can go on holidays touring. There is an app called navigator that let's you download the maps and it will work offline, so ideal for going abroad. Both waze and navigator will allow you to add way points
  8. After dealing with the wine rack, almost finished, I washed the bikes and the trailer Look how shiny they are now
  9. Nice feature. I wonder if we can add routes to it.
  10. Getting there with my new wine rack. Looks a bit rustic but hey, I love in the countryside Unfortunately run out of clamps so can't finish it today.
  11. See it on the bright side. Migration will be on a all time low Time to ask for a raise
  12. You can always get the ferry to Spain, Belgium or The Netherlands
  13. It all depends on how much is the deposit, how much can you afford to pay every month and how low you can get the credit card APR. It is a risk but frequently you can find deals with credit cards with interest free transfers for a substantial period which can help you in repaying. You MUST keep in mind that paying a large amount on a credit card will mean a large minimum monthly payment and eventually high interest rates.
  14. Have read here. Other sites are available https://www.gocompare.com/mortgages/borrowing-a-deposit/ It is common in me to misread information and I read refurbishment instead
  15. Maybe I'm being thick but, why are you paying for a loan for works on a house that it doesn't belong o you?
  16. Technically solstice was this morning around 10:30 but for me is the day that counts
  17. From memory loans for house deposit has become unavailable since 2010 or thereabout. I would ask a mortgage broker for advice how to go about it. Usually a good broker doesn't cost you anything as they will get a commission from the lender.
  18. Yes, and soon weather getting better. The downside is with the eegits in Scotland not understanding what lock down means soon we will be on a 3rd wave. Looks like the Rocky movies...
  19. I know you guys will curse me for days but... Since when solstice thread become a bumper thread?
  20. Wishing you all a very happy solstice day.
  21. Repaired the extractor fan in the kitchen, the toilet flush, halfway through my new wine rack. All this using my purpose made tools. Router table table saw and metal clamps
  22. Pure jealousy...
  23. Funny coming from the man showing more sex on daytime tv than channel 4 telling people to get condoms... He should mention that condoms are not biodegradable and will last as long as a plastic bag.
  24. I'm about to finish work until Jan 4th YYEEYY
