  1. I have a lorry bike and also filter. Just do it at slow speed. Scary stuff in France where riders are mental.
  2. One thing to consider is how hard your behind is... We all know how stiff Lancastrians' bottoms are
  3. Never said it's illegal. Just that you're not supposed to do it. "There are no filtering specific laws to define its legal status explicitly, however, because filtering is made allowance for within the highway code we can take that as it’s defined allowance on the public road within the UK." From: https://begin-motorcycling.co.uk/lane-splitting-filtering-law/ Yes there is allowance in the highway code for it but nothing specifically saying it is legal. Argument can be made for "if is not forbidden then it is legal" but riders are also responsible to ensure that enough care is taken to prevent accidents. We all know that some idiot riders go way too fast while filtering.
  4. A very touching advert about drink and drive in Portugal
  5. Very good morning folks
  6. Well... you mentioned comfy bikes.
  7. Actually, you are not supposed to filter through traffic... Are the engines on your comparison the same? Usually that's what dictates the size of the frame.
  8. Already running for TOTY @Six30 ?
  9. Nothing prevents others to say in hotel/B&B while I'll be camping then meeting up for breakfast...
  10. So I'm fed up with being at home. 2019 tried to do the 1200 miles on west coast but after Ullapool and being almost eaten by the midges and even worse the wife going on about the cold, rain, wind (not my wind ) etc. decided to head home. This year, having the trailer (first touring trip with it) and going to buy several gallons of smidge I'll be heading again. The idea is to leave Fife very early morning heading to Lochgilphead. Then head to Oban, Fort Williams, Invergarry, Applecross taking the anticlockwise route around the peninsula, up to Ullapool, Durness, Thurso, Inverness either via John O'Groats or directly(ish) via Wick. Then either down the A9 back home or Down to Spean bridge then heading east back to starting point. Will be camping all the way and it should take around 1 week (Sat to Sat). Date will start on Covid restrictions but realistically early May to avoid midge season or June risking using all the smidge sprays. If anyone is interested in coming along, drop me a line.
  11. What they say
  12. Not so much the wee village itself but the journey to go in and out. Personally I prefer to ride from Fort Augustus all the way up the A87, turn right just before Auchtertyre into the A890, left into A896 all the way up to Fearnmore. Then down the coast on the C1091 to Applecross, a stop at the Applecross Inn (traditional pitstop for bikers). When ready go back north for a few yards, turn right to C1087. Mandatory stop at Bealach na Ba Viewpoint and admire the view there. Continue to Tornapress and then either turn right to Fort Augustus / Inverness or turn left to Ullapool via the A832. You will have one of the best sightseeing in the Scottish west coast.
  13. Probably is far better than you kissing behind cracks...
  14. that's why I added the gel pads into the Pan, it makes it a lot better. According to @Ian Frog it works great on his as well. That reminds me that I still need to edit the video and upload it
  15. The bike is under 2k miles so it shouldn't need any replacement. I'm sure none of the previous owners ever changed it since 2008.
  16. So many things copers should report on and always "forget" to do it...
  17. Just remembered one reason to be bitter... Lewis Hamilton got a knighthood for driving stupidly fast. I do the same and get points I can't use in the supermarket and get a penalty.
  18. The thing is, back in the time before internet we didn't had the chance to become a "influencer" (whatever that crap means) and make 1,000's a day just to talk to a computer spending hours talking rubbish...
  19. I don't see it a a reason to be bitter. Just wonder how wisely are my taxes being spent... Not that I have nothing against offering a free ride to a coper to get a treat. Even if they (by they I mean Police Scotland) left me £1200 out of pocket by not prosecuting a criminal that vandalised my old avensis even if they knew who the b@astard was and had footage of the crime. "not a high priority..."
  20. Ordered the fork oil. this weekend will be replacing it on the Pan
  21. Probably the same type of idiot that puts the emergency lights on when approaching traffic and then turn them off just before stopping at the takeaway...
  22. According to reviews you can't go wrong with a goldwing...
  23. Been on both sides and perfectly understand why people have separate accounts. I don't think I will have a joint account again. I'm very good at keeping bills down, making sure all are paid on time, reasonable use of credit cards (the ones in my name). I make sure there is some left for holidays or other pampering. There are some tasks that I don't delegate.
  24. Good freezing morning
