  1. Been using Ultimate Ears for years, started with shooting (clays) then a set of gummies for room sharing on ski trips. Then I got on a bike and used those same gummies and work fine. Certainly know the difference between these molded, foam and nothing.
  2. Other than the two hotels, we stayed in AirBNB's, which all apart from the stay at Palheiros da Tocha all had secure parking. Tocha had a look of a secluded and it was. When we arrived the curtain twitchers had us feeling more secure and relaxed about our choice.
  3. The final morning was a ride up the N623 to Santander. We set off at 8:30 to be early enough for lunchtime boat ride home back to Portsmouth. The 623 was a little twitchy in places, which we put down to worn rear tyres and cold/damp tarmac and a rough surface. The bike is filthy, now parked until I can get time to spend making it spotless again. It also needs either a new rear (S22/S23) or replacing both front and rear with Road 6's, but plenty of time to decide as it's now parked until the warmer months.
  4. The final night was spent in Burgos, arriving mid afternoon, gave us time to have a proper look around. We couldn't find anything on AirBNB which looked acceptable, so we stayed in Hotel Silken Gran Teatro, which had underground secure parking.
  5. Day thirteen was heading to Salamanca. We rode up throu Badajoz, up the N523 and N630 which other than the middle section was another fairly straight run. When we hit Salamanca we decided to stop a day and do some sight seeing. This was a wise choice as there would be more than enough to spend a long weekend there.
  6. Day twelve and the weather turned, so we moved the plans from heading down to Faro and head to Mourão. This was another quiet little village, but the accomodation looked decent enough for a night. The gloves being a little wet needed a tree to dry out on.
  7. Day five to ten was based out of Magoito Beach as a base for the World SuperBikes at Estoril around 30 mins away. We set the satnavs to also stop at Nazare which Garmin choose to ignore, so we headed into and around Peniche which looked like a tourist haven. We continued down the N247 hugging the coastline where possible. We also took the Monday (day 11) off as a rest day, deciding to explore on our feet.
  8. Day four was to head down to a little seaside sport called Palheiros da Tocha. This was another overnight stop, which would be idea for a very quiet, walking/beach holiday. Mostly on the N109, which was a bit more straight ploddy type road.
  9. Day two was heading into Porto on the N103 towards Chaves and onto Braga, and just WOW what a road. Dry with plenty of grip which got better as the heat got into the tarmac. Then down to Porto, which as I'd never been there before I wanted a day to explore a little.
  10. So I arrived back from a trip to Spain and Portugal. Left on the Friday night boat from Portsmouth to Santander arriving 8am Sunday morning. The plan being that we do not use any motorways for the holiday. I was on my XSR900 and my friend on his GSXS1000. First stop was in Braganca, which although a long days riding, was well worth it. We started along the coastline from Santander, turned onto the N621 down to Riano for a coffee/lunch stop. Once lunch was over we continued to Braganca, stopping at the hornless goat. Wow it can get a bit windy up there. Then down to the N525 and N218 and staying in a hotel for the first night. Exe São Lázaro, which although did not do food, they offered to order us a takeaway so cant complain. The fog shots from the morning was different.

    Big Trip Tyres

I'd look to go Road 6's, last longer and better grip, even in biblical rain.
  12. I'll be on a boat to Spain, then headings down to Portugal. Only a 2 week road trip though
  13. I took a Yam MT09 AMT out for a demo ride. The manual gear change bottons took a little while to get used to, but once I put it in auto mode it did most of it quite well. The downshifts were smooth, but the up shifts however have a noticable power cut and coming onto a motorway from a roundabout with the bike lent over the gear change unsettled the bike a fair bit. Hopefully they sort that out. Would I own one, not really.
  14. I've recently purchased some Rhinowalk for an upcoming trip. A friend has a Kriega and we compared the two and the Kriega has slightly heavier material, but not £100 better material. How waterproof the Rhino's are, well I'll update on my return in mid October.
  15. Installed a satnav mount on the XSR
  16. Collecting and fitting the satnav mount, then wiring in. Sunday will be planning the protential hotels for October.

    Whale watching .

Thought you was talking about Brighton for a minute.
  18. Been playing with possible luggage mounting options for an upcoming trip. The brand it Rhinowalk, which I really cannot fault for the price, time will tell how water proof it really is. Option one is using the bag mount system with a 20l bag either side, or option two is a possible single 20l bag on the pillion. I test rode option one on some twisties and motorway and did not have any rubbing marks on the underside of the mounting. The fount mounting goes to the footrest plate, which being a little sharp on the inside, I used some cable pipe held with insulation tape. Option two just lightly rests against my back, which was only a tshirt at the time. So by the time I've got my jacket with spine protector, I'm not sure if I'll get annoyed with it.
  19. A picture with the seat removed might help give advice.
  20. They arrived today and they look and feel decent quality. Fitted the bags to the saddlebag mount and I think they will work out fine.
  21. I will be fitting my Rhinowalk luggage to the XSR, then taking a ride down to the friend who I will be travelling to Portugal and sorting out the first nights accomodation, and also for the weekend of the WSBK. Otherwise we'll be making it up as we go. We'll be doing a compare of my Rhinowalk 20l against his Kriega US-20 pack. Yes I know the Kriega will be better, but just by how much is the question.
  22. I'd say to take some inner tubes just in case
  23. I was a little bit naughty today. I paid a visit to J&S as I am looking at luggage options for an upcoming trip to Portugal. I could take the Tracer 700 that already has some Kappasport (Givi copies) hard panniers, but I'd rather take the XSR900. So I had a look at the Kriega OS Base with an option to use the OS-18 bags. But £330 for something that I am likely to use once seems a little steep in my tightarsed mind. I've ended up ordering the Rhinowalk universal saddle mount and a couple of the 20l bags, which are all on special via Amazon, which I just happen to have some vouchers for. All for £99 delivered. Once they arrive on Wednesday I'll be setting it up and making sure it works.
  24. That junction is local to me, and he was in the wrong. But it is quite normal for idiots to do that there though.
  25. I wouldn't pay that much when SportsBikeShop has the same bag for £60 less, and you could support the forum in the process.
