Had a set of S23's fitted to the XSR. Just got to ride it for a wee while to scrub them in.

I went on Saturday and it reminded me of rhe first post covid show. Excel must be doing them some mega deal as I just cant see how they make any profit/prestige to grow the show. It was almost like the bike parking area was close to half the size of the event. The Sammy Miller stand got most of my attention, but otherwise I just feel it lacks any buzz that you get from the NEC.

Might be worth looking at Squire (https://www.squirepadlocks.co.uk/) as an alternative -
Wanted Pragmasis noose security chain

Ebay will be your best choice now they've closed down. -
what fuel stabilizers do people use? I mean it's only 4-5 months parked up

Norway will be on the cards once the boat is running that way again. I want to head up to Nordkapp, but that on a bike alone would be best part of a months holiday to take.

I'll see what I can find out whilst I'm out there, as it looks like I'm heading out there on the 20th for a project. Will report back with what I find.

The only thing that I see on a regular basis with the Chinese bikes are the short service intervals.

After the last couple of weeks I'll be praying for some nice, ok dry weather to go out for a blat.

Is Kawasaki Finally Building a True Off-road Adventure Motorcycle?

I hear it's almost a stright rip of the Triumph -
I have had many of the covid jabs, but have missed the last two reminders. The flu jab I have always avoided after seeing the mess that my sister is in for days after having it, yet she still goes back for it every year.

I can voucher for the 10 and 20l tailpack bags. Everything stayed nice and dry on a recent trip. Keep an eye on Amazon, I stuck them in the basket and left it a day or two and I got some discount on them.

So what are you looking to find in the black friday sales, some have already started and some are still to start. I'll be looking for some replacements for my Alpinestars SMX6 drystars and perhaps a goretex jacket if the budget can stretch that far.

We was looking at doing a tour up to Nordkapp, Norway, but we worked out we'd need a month to get there and back, so not certain what touring will happen next year. Perhaps the Irish Wild Atlantic Way. Bike wise, I'd like to replace the Tracer 700 with something a little bigger, perhaps the Tracer 9 but will be looking at other brands also. I'm still enjoying the XSR900, but that will remain for sunny day bimbles. I'm looking to replace some of my gear in these black friday sales, as my boots (Alpine SMX6 drystar) are not do waterproof any longer, and the jacket has been attacked by the velcro on the right arm and looking a little tatty now. Also some new winter type gloves.

So I'm looking to park the XSR up over winter, but the issue being that the front struts are different lengths. Left (offside) has an adjuster at the bottom which makes using a traditional stand out of the question. I'm looking at under yoke stands and this one is already in the black friday sales. I would normally go for Harris stands, but at almost tripple the price I am struggling to find that acceptable. https://www.sgs-engineering.com/sgs-motorcycle-front-wheel-stand What are peoples thoughts?

I've had my flying jacket since I was 17 (now 52), which was made by my mother who used to work in that trade. It's too warm to do up fully, and only had to have the arm's lengthened over the years. Would love to wear this out on a ride, but not certain how it would hold up should I have an off.

Do you carry a puncture kit?
Fish replied to Simon Davey's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I carry one under the seat of the Tracer, but nothing on the XSR is there is sod all space under that seat. -
Washed and waxed the daily mule, then did the chain on the other. Tomorrow will be full decontamination, wash and ceramic coating on the other. Once that's done it will be put away for the year.

What’s Important When Choosing a Hotel on a Motorcycle Trip?
Fish replied to Nomad1975's topic in General Chat
Does it matter if the hotel has a secure parking area for your bike? Yes, Is it important for you to have a spot to dry clothes or even a small area for minor repairs? No Do you look for options like late check-in or early check-out flexibility? No What about room comfort: is having a shower, a comfy bed, or maybe even a kitchenette something you value? Yes Or are there other factors you always check before booking a hotel? Tend to bypass hotels in favour of AirBNB with parking. Reason being if on a trip, it gives me the option to wash any items (i.e. underwear and tops) mid-way of the trip. -
Next you'll be stating is mustard over brown sauce

I recently purchased a couple of Rhinowalk options for a trip that covered Spain and Portugal over 2 weeks. I ordered 2*20ltr, 1*10ltr and Universal Saddle Bag Mounting Base (which I ended up not using). I weighed up the Rhinowalk vs the Kriega bags, and just could not justify the difference. I read some reviews and all seemed positive for the Rhinowalk kit. I used 1*20ltr Moto Tail Pack bag for normal clothes, washbag and some trainers. We planned on 7 days of clothes, some long sleeve tops, t-shirts, pair of jeans, shorts. There was still some space compared to trying to put it in a US-20 pack, so the Rhinowalk is a little better in dimensions. The 10ltr bag was used for my bike bits, i.e. waterproofs, puncture repair kit, spare gloves and some tools. How did the kit stand up to the weather and the trip, both the 10 and 20ltr bags have dry liners on the inside and they stood up really well. Nothing got wet or even damp , and on the top of each bag is a seperate zipped pocket that kept documents dry and save. The bags came with the same wrap straps for mouting points off the frame that the Kriega's come with, also come with the same buckle fasteners again like Kriega. The only difference was the Rhinowalk come with two should straps, to turn it into a proper rucksack type bag, compared to the single strap from Kriega. Would I recommend these, yes without a beat. The ends that hung over the end of the bike will get a wash and brush off, and then placed in storage ready for next years adventures. PS. I lent my second 20ltr bag to my friend and he connected it to his US-20 pack using the supplied straps without any issues.

It was going to be getting some oil and a filter for a mid-interval oil change. The weather however did not want to play nicely, so that will either be tomorrow (Sunday) or late next week. So I also stopped to get some other bits and EuroCarParts did not fail as usual. Ordered a 1ltr pre-wash cleaner for loosening those pesky Spainish/Portugese bugs, well I turned up and they couldn't find the 1ltr, but offered a 5ltr bottle instead. Feeling a little cheeky, I said I'd take it for the price of the 1ltr. So I blagged 5ltr's for the price of 1ltr. Next stop was new mattress shopping, which went smoother than expected. I hate shopping. Now to remove the lining of the helmet and give that a wash, whilst I fit the new visor and pinlock. Now do I wax, sealant, ceramic coat or Rain-X the new visor?
