  1. Went for a ride, got it over the required 600 miles and first service booked for next weekend. Starting to properly enjoy this XSR
  2. I wouldn't recommend the 765 for no other reason than you'll feel cramped on that too , coming from an SV. GS/Multistrada would be my guess. The Tigers are all top heavy, which might not be an issue as you say your fit. Just my 2p worth
  3. @Mawsley had both feet done years ago. Somehow managed to screw both big toes at the same time.
  4. Did you replace the number plate with anything slightly smaller? If so, where and what size did you go for?
  5. make certain the mic is facing the right way
  6. I dodged the showers this morning and took a trip to the tyre shop on the XSR. This was to replace the stupid little stubby tyre valves with nice 90 degree bend valves, making it easier to check pressures and inflate if required.
  7. Put some more miles on it, just over halfway on the running in process.
  8. Yes, there's one in an upcoming DVLA auction I'm looking at.
  9. I recently had to replace my daily helmet (Scorpion EXO 1400 Carbon) after owning for close to 4 years. After trying on a few different helmets I decided on the Shoei NXR2 (TC2 Sheen Blue) . Like you'd expect with a new helmet, it's tight in all the right places, yet no pressure points. The lid itself comes in 4 shell sizes, XXS and XS, M, L, XL and XXL, with picking an L that suited my head. Having now spent a few hours in it, mixing city, country roads and motorway, the weight of it is only marginly lighter than Scorpion. On the road noise side of things, this helmet is just so quiet. The Shoei quality is second to none IMHO. The only thing I'm really missing is the dropdown visor, but the dark smoke lens suits the look of the helmet and even when riding in the dark vision is still very clear. At time of purchase it cost £499.99, I also purchased a Cardo Pactalk Edge as when buying accessories with the helmet comes as tax free, but most dealers will only discount to 16.6% for some reason. But hey any discount is welcome.
  10. Collected some new friends
  11. Putting as much milage as I can to reach that magical 600 miles
  12. Sitting at home watching Mission: Impossible (original TV series) as it's hissing down outside, which cancels any mayday fun run. Even only heard a couple of bikes riding around, and not the normal every couple of minutes noises
  13. You should be able to download a manual from Honda's website, most servicing is now held electronically so most new vehicles do not come with a service manual.
  14. My thoughts would be to get the suspension upgraded/setup and give it some better braking. If you can corner and brake harder then the others, then you'll outpace the others.
  15. Well I eventually collected it. Dealer forgot the attach the mirrors, which by all accounts is NOT part of the PDI process. Still I managed to half bed the new brakes before the clouds got heavy and I put it to bed.
  16. With the weather forecast for this weekend..... not much
  17. KTM would be on the list, but living in London it would be stolen within an hour, regardless of security
  18. I read many a thread that insurance is an issue for the Z1000's, but we all know the insurance (ripoff) game varies for many reasons. I'm also not really looking for a touring bike, but more something a little naughty for those sunny Sunday ride outs. Re the MV/Tiger, I've got my tracer 700 for day to day and want something not so upright, not that I'm looking for a hunched over sports bike either. @Pie man, the F900R is an accomplished bike with many bells and whistles. This bike had every box ticked when they ordered it as a demo ride, the seat although on the firm side wasn't an issue for the hour+ that I was out on it, national speed limit into country lanes/B roads, into town then back to the dealers. I did find the pegs a little on the high side and did cramp up a little towards the end of the ride, but nothing that a quick stand up didn't fix. The bike had the D-ESA suspension and I would put it on par with the 765RS for a firmer ride. Compared to some of the others I have tested, I just found it missing that magical something that I'm looking for. The punch that both the Triumph and Yam triples give whilst not having to be up and the high end of the rev range give them the edge over the BMW. The only main thing the F900's have that could win is they have a 0% finance deal going at present.
  19. Another weekend, another testride. This time its a BMW F900R, given up trying to arrange an Aprilia test at this point. So far the list had been MT10, 765RS, MT09SP and XSR900. Tempted to get a ride on a Kwack Z900RS but really want to get something sorted before the bank holiday weekend.
  20. Not today, but over the weekend I had the chance to take an MT10 out for an extended test ride, so used that to go down and test ride a 765RS. Thought it would be naughty if I didnt take advantage. The 10 was a lot more forgiving that I expected from such a heavy weight, the 765 was a much better ride than my previous demo 765. Suspension was much more as expected, as in on the harder side. If the weather is good again this Saturday, I'm looking to take an Aprilia R660 and Tuono 660 Facotry out, after that the last on my 'test ride' list is the MT09SP.
  21. Got back home from travelling with work and caught some bug or something. Currently laid up, trying to sweat it out of me but doubt I'll be venturing far this weekend.
  22. Has to go to the guy who did't like that I was filtering through the traffic, road then opens up to a dual carriage way and he goes flying past. Couple of miles down the road and there he is sat in traffic, and as I'm coming back past him again, he gives me the one finger wave. I stop, ask what the issue is and he gets all upset that I can filter and he's stuck in the queue of cars. Sat behind him as the traffic started moving, and he's brake checking and playing silly games, so back into the traffic and I go past with a wave goodbye. Why can some idiots not accept that we don't sit in traffic like they have to, I accept it when I'm in the car.
  23. I can recommend the Road 6's as I have them on my Tracer 700. Excellent grip in the dry and wet.
  24. Gave it a much needed wash, and the water in the bucket at the end was certainly on the dirtier side of things. Also trying the MucOff Dry Lube on the chain.
  25. Giving the bike a much needed clean.
