  1. Might be worth checking Chelmsford council website. They will list parking details.
  2. Out for a ride to a suspension specialist to talk about a service and possible upgrades. Told the service wouldn't be an issue, but there would be no point using thicker oil as it would make little to no difference. The recommendation was to spend circa £1500 replacing the front/rear setup. Today was clay pigeon shooting, where I came second. Stupidly missed 8 targets. On the plus side I got home and checked my emails to find out I've won £500 in vouchers for John Lewis.
  3. Bennett's customers also get a healthy discount on the XT
  4. Nice ride around the carpark known as central London.
  5. Insurance do not see it that way. If you are working in different locations, you'll require business. If you just travel to one place of work, you'll require commuting insurance.
  6. Not the first to say this about Helmet City
  7. I really want to get out and clear my head, but with the roads aroud me covered in wet leaves I don't fancy chancing it.
  8. One thing to think about is if using it to visit different locations for work, you'll be required to have business insurance. Not the sort that means you'll be just eat or deliveroo, but for visiting different locations for work. Commuting type insurance would only cover to one place of work, not multiple.
  9. I'd certainly recommend a bike that has a topbox. Riding that sort of distance with a rucksack can get boring pretty quickly. It would also help keeping things dry if it's raining, whilst also keeping some spare gloves/waterproofs in. The choice of bike is purely your choice, but I'd go with something with fairing.
  10. even though they are grippy from new, dont be fooled into not getting rid of that top layer
  11. took it for a ride around different car stealers instead of sitting in traffic in the current car
  12. Some insurnace companies class being secured in a standard garden shed with chain/ground anchor the same as in a garage. When you start looking at insurance mention this.
  13. Have a look on TwoTyres.... they are by the Blackwall tunnel and have a vast choice and give decent advice based off a couple of questions.
  14. London is the main reason for the high prices. Would it be garaged is my question, if yes then you'll save a small fortune over street parked.
  15. Whilst the sun was out.... ok it was dry at least I got out for a couple of hours to tour the dealers looking at possible change options. First time of putting the winter gloves on and my god they feel strange, bulky and will take a few more trips out to get 'used to' again
  16. It took me for my covid jab at lunch and tonight it will be taking me thru the traffic caused by the delusional oil protestors holding the QE Bridge to ransom!
  17. MT07 or for a little more upright the Tracer 7/700
  18. Sorry, but not sorry.... they deserve to just have the parts glued to whatever just ripped off. Stupid should be painful!
  19. They are £179.99 but you do get a free pair of summer leather shorty gloves free. If you're a Bennetts customer you get 10% off or just sign up to the news letter. I got this in the wrong section of the forum and should really be under the reviews section
  20. So I wanted a 'better' pair of jeans for the little trip to Spain I just took. I've been wearning RedRoute jeans, which being on the baggier side are more cut how I like my jeans. I took a trip down to Roadskin and tried on the Taranis AAA rated and the Paranoid's which are also AAA rated, but they are more of a winter jean. The Paranoids are on the looser side of cut's, but much heavier due to the seperate full length internal kevlar lining. The Taranis are what I'd class as skinny fit, they are woven kevlar and have an internal mesh liner. They are also a stretch material, so once you get comfortable on the bike, there's no digging into your body. The knee has double pockets to adjust the height, which I initially had in the top pocket, but soon moved to the lower as I found it didn't really cover the knee. The hip sits in just the right place, and wearing the jeans all day never became annoying for digging into me at any point. They offer two types of protection padding. One is like a D30 yellow (but not D30) and he other being a black ghost type armor. I fitted the black from the get go and not looked back, I'm sure I'll give the yellow a go at some point but not in any rush. Would I recommend them, yes. After covering just shy of 2000 miles on a 12 day trip with them being worn for everything other than the main motorway to/from they was my main pair for daily enjoyment. The only thing I would say is they are ever so slightly on the long side.
  21. If you can, speak with their insurance company directly. Cut out the middle man so to speak. They might send an assessor out to inspect the damage, but unlikely. They then authorise the repairs and jobs done.
  22. I would second the DAS comment. Having completed and got yourself a full license you'll have a much better selection of bikes. This doesn't mean that you have to go and get something big, but the option is there.
  23. Today's adventure was around the Picos mountains, not many miles but still a good day
  24. Im currently in Spain and every biker, regardless of make/model sticks their hands our to acknowledge other riders. Mopeds however get ignored. It's one of those things you'll learn to live with
