  1. In the current age of mobile phones having internet, if he was the be unlucky enough to get pulled on the way home from the MOT, those kind officers might just ask home to do it online in front of them. MOT's are live updated, so he's be able to pay for the tax within minutes of the MOT being completed.
  2. Long sleeves, gloves, PPE3 mask other than that not much of an issue. Just made sure I had a shower as soon as I was finished.
  3. Starting to re-lag the loft and board it out whilst I'm at it. What an existing life I have
  4. What chargers are you wonerful lot recommending? I keep looking at the Optimates, but not certain which one to go for. I have dislike for anything Oxford as the few item's I've bought over the last couple of years simply do not last. So are there any other brands worth looking at?
  5. you think I got energy.... Shooting is for stress relief, wallpaper stripping is because we've just finished a full house rewire. The shed didn't quite go to plan, got a call at 9 this morning with 'there's a little issue'..... They didn't follow the plans and only put a single 4 foot door on it, so explained that as they had already delayed once and I had to reschedule to work from home today they had to resolve and still arrive today. They appeared at lunchtime and the boys who did the bolt work did a decent job. Jost got to hoover it out, seal the concrete, go get a board for the consumer unit to attach to, run the armored cable and wire it up. Also got to arrange a security light and decide if I want to insulate it or not.
  6. An adventure lid is what I'm tempted with for riding into work (London), slow traffic and better vision are my aims.
  7. Stripping wallpaper ready for the plasterer to come around and fill all the channels left from the full house rewire, then a little shooting and back home to empty the old shed which is being replaced tomorrow.

    First bike!

The only question I think Ride missed was budget, also allowing for the fact you'll need to buy helmet and other protective clothing into that budget

    Mesh network

Like Fiddlesticks the Virgin box is in modem mode as the security is poor. With that in mind I have the Amplifi Gamers edition, but for normal use I'd recommend the Amplifi-HD https://amplifi.com/amplifi-hd You get to tweek the settings per device for either normal, throughput or gaming.
  10. and whatever you do, DO NOT TRUST CHECKATRADE!!!! biggest scam site short of facebook marketplace
  11. Workshop base being concreted on Saturday, otherwise nothing planned
  12. I had a DataTool on my first bike and had no issues with it or the battery on the bike. A couple of times the bike even sat for a few weeks without touching it and no issues with starting. I think a lot depends on the product regarding how much it eats the battery.
  13. Taking an exam that I've been puting off for a couple of months.
  14. If I ever have dried on bugs I just place a soaked cloth for 5 mins whilst I clean other parts.
  15. I did hear an old skool thing of adding sugar into the glue which is meant to help, but most likely talking crap again.
  16. With the bike (an me) off the road at the moment and the weather as rubbish as it is, I took the oppertunity to give the jacket and trousers a wash and re-proof..... Took longer to wash it than it did to dry for some reason
  17. On a provisional then you'll have lost that provisional. You'll not be allowed to ride until you've passed another CBT.
  18. I'm 1 week down out of the minimium of 4 weeks I'm not allowed out on the bike, cant even really work on it either.
  19. I got told not to ride the bike for just over a month. Hernia ops suck the fun out of life but have to be done I suppose. Just now bored until I'm allowed to do stuff again.
  20. Only the DVLA if it's a permanent change of colour, if it's just a wrap then no.

    Ear plugs

I've got the Ultimate Ears molded and have no real issues with allday wearing, I was working on a site that had the foam ones and grabbed a couple. All done in the name of testing I hope you understand. I didn't find they worked as well in my ears as the molded, but we're all different so it's whatever works best for you.
  22. Valve clearance done at the local dealer.... Good job I get paid on Monday
  23. Not today, but yesterday. Went out for a little bimble with the local dealer and a few customers. Started in SE London around 5:30 heading down to Seaford (Eastbourne), which started as dry, 40 mins in it was spitting, hour later RAIN!!! Still it didnt stop us, and got back home at 10:30ish. Put the bike away, All the gear on the drying rack and the lining removed from the helmet. The Halvarssons Walkyr jacket kept the top half bone dry other than a slight wet neckline. The Alpinestars Andres Drystar over trousers also worked really well until about the last hour, but mostly just wet around the bootline and a slightly damp crotch area. Gloves were from Roadskin Easyrider, well we all know gloves never hold up that well. Checked this morning and the jacket was bone dry, the trousers still a little damp, the boots (SMX6 Goretex) still heavily wet and now have newspaper placed inside to help but expect them to take a few days to dry out. Still you cant beat a agood evenings ride out in testing conditions to help hone riding skills.
  24. that we've lost our ability to laugh at ourselves and the woke environment that has taken over the world, there's plenty more but this stuff will kill the world
  25. Staying away from all those nasty rain showers and putting anti-condensation paint on the walls instead
