  1. just dont forget to loosen front sprocket before removing rear wheel and chainas you can use the back brake to hold everything still while loosening what ever is holding front sprocket on
  2. are you sure you can use your own bike as your insurance wont cover you due to not having valid licence for that cc motorcyle,and also your licence is only provisional and that bike needs to be full licence as its above 125 and not a school bike?
  3. then try number 2 as fuel in and number 1 as over flow for float bowldoes the brass fitting number one pivot round to face downwards at all?
  4. looks like it might be number 1 is fuel into carb number 2 is vacumm to fuel tapwhen carb is in position and the hoses are hanging are they not bend slightly towards one connection more than the other
  5. about 10 bikers on skegness seafront about mid day today stuck in traffic as they wouldnt filter down the middle and all jamming throttles open valve bouncing engines in neutral just making twats of themselves
  6. pop the spark plug out and place finger over plug hole see if the compression blows your finger off the head that will give you an idea if there is an compression there,but it sounds like it might of heat seized and then released again as it cooled down in which case a top end rebuilt will more than likely be needed

  8. yes you will need to drop wheel off the bike chances are there is a lot of brake dust build up in the drum causing you the problem,if you have never done it before take it slow and if needs be take pics of how the bolt look before you remove them and dont forget you will need to tension your chain again once you refit the wheel

  11. yes it could of due to any number of reasons including slight cable stretch to the bike being pressure washed and maybe catching the ajduster with spray jet
  12. have a look under the carbs inbetween carbs 2 and 3 you might see the black adjuster knob there ther it slightly clockwise like you are doing it up and see if idle increases
  13. welcome to the forum please pop into newbies when you get time and introduce yourself as it makes us feel a bit happier about ofering help and advice knowing that you might stick around as its one of the best forums you will find online.the pics dont appear to of come out for some reason so it depends on how far over the hole has gone you might be able to recover it with something like chemical metal or get it welded up and then drill new hole again

  17. could be the shaft needs lubricating where it passes through the engine casing there could be a build up of crap in the casing stoppingi it returning properly

  19. harley parts are more money in the usa than they are here
  20. it would normally get in around the outer ridge of the cap gog and then there is the vent/drain built into the lip of the tank to drain water vent tank and it was that which got blocked
  21. if you aer on about building from the ground up using donor parts then be carefull on what you buy a frame without a logbook (v5)will sell for £50-£100 frame with a v5 or just a v5 on its own is worth up £1,000 and ive seen more paid as details on harley v5's are not that specific and early ones can be swapped around fairly easy as they had no engine size on them so were sold to boys building chops,and they are paying that kind of money so they can get around the msva rules and regulations that if registering a new bike would encounter
  22. was at marina tonight got there about 7.15 about 10-15 bikes there in total they didnt hang around to long,i was in the car as mrs eab was with me and we decided at last minute to go out for dinner food was up to its usual great standard
  23. any paint you use on the exhaust must be ultra heat paint due to temps it gets to
  24. standard ones are welded in no choice but change can and link pipe if you want different sound
