  1. That kid will grow up to think that's the norm, what was needed was a proper clip around the ear, if that bike had rolled off its stand things could of got real nasty.

    Route 66

Until this virus thing erupted we were deep into organizing a bike tour from Denver. We made contact through these people here. They plan everything for you. https://www.eaglerider.com/united-states?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=brand=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eaglerider.com%2Funited-states%3Futm_source%3Dbing%26utm_medium%3Dcpc%26utm_campaign%3Dbrand%26utm_source=bing&utm_campaign=International%20-%20EagleRider%20(Brand)&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Beaglerider%20%2Busa&utm_content=EagleRider%20Rental%20%26%20Tour
  3. Hope things get back to normal for the Manx. The wheels have well and truly come off my plans for this year already.
  4. I tried some vireo focal contact lenses, initially l thought great until l had one move on me whilst batting up the motorway resulting blurred vision and a panic stop not recommended.
  5. If it's not excessive voltage or a loose connection causing a voltage spike, just be sure that the rubber mounts are not to tight on the head light unit, if there over tightened there's the possibility of vibration from the engine be transmitted through to the lamp.
  6. A good read here might find your problem https://www.knowyourparts.com/technical-resources/starting-and-charging/starter-will-not-crank-when-hot-heat-soak/ Heat soak is a common problem with a lot of motors, old corroded cables, weak starter solenoids, battery connection and finally the starter motor need to checked for conductance and resistivity.
  7. In one Mate A 3 man stand up tent, airbed, 3 season sleeping bags and all the luxuries and no problems filtering through traffic normally were the lead bike on a loaded tour. I've covered 540miles covered in a day. Mugello Italy will be a 2000 mile round trip.
  8. Not many can mate to be honest, but it all makes sense really. 2 up camping I wouldn't do it any other way now
  9. Looks like I've got a result, l made contacted F.E.M.A the Federation of European Motorcyclist Association who have looked into look into the issue, they put me in contact with there Italian official. He has come back with this document which is translated from Italian , the rules are not good for the Italians but it seems ok for us. Below are extracts. of 1992, does not provide for the possibility of towing by motorcycles, those registered abroad can freely circulate on our territory. From this it follows that if an Italian citizen registers in Italy a vehicle already registered with a tow hook abroad, the offices of the Italian motorization accept the approval and allow the vehicle to circulate with an appendix trolley. If, on the other hand, an Italian citizen asks to be able to tow an appendix trolley with his own motor vehicle, this is denied. In a nutshell: an Italian motor vehicle cannot be allowed to tow a trolley, while a motor vehicle purchased abroad is granted this option. All this, however, provided that the motor vehicle registered in our borders is not a vintage Lambretta, because the appendix trolley has been regularly used for over half a century and regularly approved (which is a clear contradiction because the motor vehicles are obviously safer ). So a trip to Mugello for the Moto Gp looks on the cards now all subject to a bloody flu virus

We're Denver bound to see Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band.
  13. For convenience grips, just be sure you wire them correctly so that they switch off when you stop the bike. Gloves might work but generally there bulky and a bit of a faff to connect and disconnect on and off the bike.

  18. Every bikes tool kit should come with one of those mate, a must have
  19. We covered 540miles in a day, try doing that 2 up also carrying camping gear for a 2 weeks hols total 2,300miles in 2 weeks
  20. Visors are bloody expensive to say the least, heavy rain, not a problem just turn your head to one side and another to keep it clear, but when the rain has stopped and the roads are throwing up crud there are not many options but to stop and clean without actually trashing your visor, l would sooner stop and give it a good clean, l carry a muck off visor clean kit it comes with a microfiber cloth, nothing worse than not being able to see where your going or a scratch visor.
  21. We're mad for it a small problem of work gets in our way. But last year we completed what got to be our best tour - camping holiday ever Norway, from door to door 3,200 miles in 2 weeks. l hardly ever go alone as my partner loves camping too. Top tips make sure your tent and camping gear will keep you dry warm and comfortable. So good solid tent that will stand up to the elements easy to put up and pack away light enough to go onto the back of the bike without making it to wide a load. I'm a big fan of the Kyham tents the biker an ideal unit, me as lm getting on a bit like to have some hight and room to get dress and move about, we have the Kyham Freelander. plenty of space for our gear has kept us warm and dry in some really testing times. An airbed a must for me as a) it so comfy and b) offers a massive thermal break from the cold ground. Sleeping bags go for a 3 to 4 season minimum nothing worse than trying to sleep whilst cold. Everything else is luxuries if your bike can carry it you can the go for the pots pans cookers and chairs you feel you might be able to fit on. Have to say there's some fantastic gear out there now and certainly no need to be cold, wet or uncomfortable. shop wisely and enjoy. Me being gadget mad we have usb power point all over the bike under the seat in the top box so our phones and a battery pack all can be charges whilst on the run. A few pic's of our trip to Norway
  22. Pledge and WD40 works for me. Pledge all the paints and plastics WD40 on the wheels just mind the not to get it on the brakes
