  1. Waterproof would be good and around 20L should so it. Kriega’s would be deal if they were 70% cheaper. You get what you pay for, quality normally comes at a price
  2. Bit pricey but there are good, been using mine for years now. As long as you get the correct buds for your ears you get really good comfort, sound and noise cancellation and still able to hear things going on around you. Recommended

Better to plan - time you're journey than relying on others, if caught out pull in have a break or coffee. As the saying goes, better to arrive 20min late in this world than arrive far to early in the next
  4. This is why this country is so messed up https://uk.yahoo.com/news/teenager-sentenced-detention-leeds-crash-deaths-105500140.html
  5. Wish we could have this option to get to Norway. 700 miles each way to get to the start of your holiday, is the equivalent to 4 days on the bike, unless your mad for it.
  6. You need to give them a call mate, big ask to do that over the net.
  7. Why not get them rechromed and serviced? Far safer than rolling the dice on the internet and potentially buying the same as what you've got now.
  8. As long as you've done the regular checks all should be fine, the only issue you might have if something go's wrong there liable to hide behind the fact that it's not been serviced as scheduled and argue the claim.
  9. Hi, get the front wheel in the air, check the wheel and head stock bearings are ok, then spin the wheel to make sure the wheel spins true and that the tyre fitted correctly, check that the disc's are floating on there mountings and not seized, after that get the wheel balance checked. Needs doing sooner than later, a steering wobble can and will compromise the steering and stopping power of the bike.
  10. First l want to see him fit and well, then if he really wants to ride a big bike, for me it's got to be the Norton You got your wish. He has signed for norton. Let's see the PR teams roll this one out. Honda will be seething with this, there'll be more media interest in this ride, it's the biggest thing since Hissey rode the Norton. Karma playing it's cards on Honda.
  11. For a bike as heavy as your Honda for me you've got to go for a dual compound sports touring tyre. these offer better wet grip as well as giving you decent mileage. I'm more than happy with the Pirelli Angel's on the Busa. I will always go for a full treaded tyre for road use as these tyres are made for the real world of sports touring. Forget about the super sticky tyres for road use unless your a dry road Sunday morning scratcher. Link here that might be of use: http://www.motorcycle.com/buyers-guides/sport-touring-tire-buyers-guide.html
  12. I Run Pirelli Angel's myself more than happy with them, in all the tyre reviews I've read the PR4's come out on top in most cases. strange that you found them a bad choice, even more so when other riders with the same bike give them the thumb's up
  13. PR4's are as good as they get by all accounts, punctures = a pain in the ass, no tyre will cover that issue.
  14. Hi Just a few pointers that might be of use to you. 1) If your going to use your phone as a sat nav you will need a permanent power supply to the phone, a phone used as a sat nav will rinse your battery in no time 2) A power supply and a mount, look no further than here: https://ultimateaddons.com/pages/motorcycle 3) Having trailing leads from your phone to your headphones is a pain, you'll need extension leads as the standard is not long enough, also having the volume control on the lead is not easy to operate whilst riding and wearing gloves, far better to have the phone in a waterproof mount and control it from there or better still to get a decent Bluetooth headset for your helmet, Senna do one with a 3.5mm jack to accept the head phones. This will enable you to see the phone for the sat nav, take call's also listen and select your music. Hope this helps
  15. Well if they strip it and discover the problem and you decide not to proceed with the repair they aren't going to put it all back together again free of charge. It's quite certain to require a re bore and a new piston and they are probably going to use Yamaha genuine parts . So they have to quote you for a worst-case scenario. Like we have suggested , the cheapest option is to fit a cylinder and piston kit . Although you might believe that this is a Japanese bike , its actually a Chinese bike so Chinese replica parts are as good as any. There are more expensive kits but how do you know they aren't the same quality but with a higher price tag to make you think that they must be better ? Bob. Low compression, it might just be a valve or gasket? An endoscope down the spark plug hole should tell you the state of the bore. All to often these days they just want to empty the stores without doing the diagnostic's.
  16. How can they quote you a price without stripping it to investigate the problem?
  17. I was brought up under the assumption that, if you stuck your hands in the fire your going to get burn't, and the same go's for law and order, "so said my Dad god bless him". We all knew to never bring the police to the house, my Dad ruled with an iron fist and a massive warm heart, you made your choice. On that note, l nor any member of my family has ever been in serious trouble with the law. I was brought up on a mining estate as a family of 6, bloody hard, lean times, and l've also worked in the Prison service and seen the pampering that go's on. Inmates are pacified not corrected during there term inside, the system is all wrong. Thousands of people have lost there job's due to industry's being shut down and then being set up again abroad. Those job's would of kep't the kids off the streets and enable them to work and prosper. For me the only industry that should have been exported is the prison service, l say industry now because the government has part privatised it, and profits are being made on the backs of wrong doer's, again all wrong.

Thanks for that mate, we really want to see the pulpit rock so it looks like we need to go in through Kristiansand from Denmark and do the FV500 down to the fjord."> We really don't want to go right up to the top, maybe to the loftern Isle's then make the turn for home. Pity the Immingham ferry gone, that would of saved us 2000 miles of getting to and from Norway
  19. The Steam Packet (costa packet) is robbery, they fleece people coming to the island, I was away a couple of years ago, I came back on the Friday before TT, boat was heaving, paid top notch prices and there there was nowhere to sit except the floor. Classic TT is getting busier every year so people are having to book months ahead to ensure they can get on the boat. Hope you have a good time when you eventually get here anyway, fingers crossed the weather is fine. Oh nearly forgot, don't buy your beer from the kiosks or street vendors that pop up at that time of year, you get ripped of, go to Shoprite, you'll pay a third of the price! Ive been going since the early 70's, back in the day there was no roll on and off ferries I've seem many pride and joy's craned onto boats it was a bit like a the Normandy evacuations anything that floats did the job. Now that most of Douglas's B&B's have long gone, my gut feeling now is that the IOM government use the ferry company to regulate the amount of people and traffic hitting the Island they can't cope like they use to.
  20. A Chinese jail Mate not the bloody holiday camps our do gooder's offer as a deterrent. Our prisons now offer better terms and conditions than most old folks homes. That is just not true. Our prisons are mostly crap places that help to re-inforce criminal behaviour as it is dog eat dog inside. Ironically, if you do want less reoffending, you want the Scandinavian model of prisoners treated well, give jobs and training, the vote and the oncentive to become a productive member of society. If you want more, treat them like a "Chinese jail". If someone treats you like scum, brutalises you and removes self control and dignity, would you bow down and accept that you are filth? Or would you fight back? Respect is earn't not given, if you think that in fighting back and throwing acid at innocent people going to win you respect. Well seriously!!

Not got this one ticked off yet, and as they say you snooze you loose, the sailing that use to go from Immingham to Norway is no more, "Stopped by British Boarder control JOY!!" So has anyone been recently and can offer any advice. It looking for me like a Holland, Germany and Denmark and another ferry now, which as l see it is at least a 2 day run before we start on Norway.
  23. Booked for the Manx - Classic TT yesterday, I have to call in as they don't allow for me to book the trailer on online. Went through the normal channels all done a confirmed in minutes. This years were going as a group of maybe 8 or more camping as normal, last night the rest started to make reservations and already we're running into difficulties of us all getting on the same sailings. It's crazy when you think that for the Manx you have to pay the amount in full for a sailing that's 8 months away.
