    Both spots are dead on my Explorer. They seemed to both get dim, then stop working. They're aftermarket ones wired into the battery. It's not the fuse, as the switch lights up. I'm guessing the switch itself might be dodgy.

    Now I think of it, haven't actually had any pressies. But we did take off on a little adventure, hand luggage only. Caught up with some old friends. Staying in a wonderful little cabin where the Internet and TV were out for the first few days. Bliss

    After the decat I did on the Thunderbird a few weeks ago I had some backfiring/popping coming off the throttle (to be expected due to the change in back pressure, air/fuel mix). I left the engine running for 12mins after the fan kicked in, to allow the ECU to reset itself, but wasn't able to get out see whether it had fixed things. So this lunchtime took advantage of the dry weather and did a ten mile loop, during which no untoward bangs. Now sounding a bit more like a cruiser, and a bit less like a sewing machine.

    Probably I'm misunderstanding but... Are we looking at the threaded bar half way up on the left? Is it threaded to the end? Any chance of threading two nuts onto it, one to lock against the other (turn two spanners against each other). Then unscrew using the first nut.

    I've had the same bikes on my watch lists in Autotrader and Ebay for months. I gave up trying to sell the XJR and/or the Thunderbird and decided to get a bigger garage instead.

    Anyone else feel claustrophobic in full face helmets that don't flip up? I tried one the other day which fit great but made me feel as if I was down a very tight pothole.

    Help Needed! Have just returned from the Post Office where Mrs. Fiddlesticks had dispatched me to procure 50 Second Class Stamps. I now find myself in need of a good trauma therapist and a bridging loan.
