  1. Better than these mesh things I mistakenly bought last summer Sure, they have a little round disc sewn in to protect the ankle, but the soles are so flimsy that putting the centre stand down is impossible. Walking boots would be safer, I'm sure.
  2. Looks cool
  3. Not all of them mine, I hasten to add.
  4. Bit of a milestone on the ride home tonight.
  5. When I bought the Explorer I left Mrs. Fiddlesticks as collateral.
  6. There's a famous bit of logic that goes: Something must be done. This is something. Therefore, we must do this. Deliciously seductive.
  7. I put Osram Night Breakers on the Explorer. Not LED, but made quite a difference.
  8. Happy birthday
  9. If you believe that you believe in nothing, does that mean you believe in something?
  10. Apple laptop, Linux media PC/home server and Android phone here. (Windows laptop gets dug out of the crate of spares under my desk every 6000 miles to reset the service indicator on the Explorer.)
  11. Just declare the towbar to the insurance company or they'll not pay out at all.
  12. A question for somebody in the know... You can only use your no claims bonus on one policy at a time. If you were to provide proof of a single no claims bonus to two different insurers for two different bikes - how would they know? (Not that I'm suggesting you should do such a thing, just curious). The logic of the No Claims Bonus system seems a bit strange to me.
  13. Glad you're OK tho.
  14. A tale of two quotes. 2024 model low mileage Tiger. (Not purchased yet). £13.5k value. 12k miles with pillion and commuting. £2,500 fully comp. 2007 XJR1300 owned 3 years. 2K miles with pillion but no commuting. Different end can. £127 third party / £150 fully comp. First one certainly makes the case for a general hack/commuter.
  15. Happy birthday
  16. Looking very nice! Hope the recovery is quick and painless.
  17. Can recommend Hotwheelz in North End
  18. That's maddening. Glad you got it sorted.
  19. It seems fairly clear after Final Destination 1, 2, 3 and 4 that there is a breach of the Trades Description Act going on here...
  20. Same here. Simple one hour trip each way, mostly motorway. The bike was properly cacked up when I got home. It's all the grit from last week's icy weather. Still, I enjoyed getting the bike out.
  21. What a faff! The perfect situation in which to employ the power of "no".
