  1. Mystery solved, 12v socket has lost its retaining nut and is now loose in its recess. Easy fix.
  2. I have a cruiser, although haven't actually ridden it that much. Comfort is subjective. On the plus side, the riding position is quite laid back and seat height is low. And they're pretty cool and whatnot. Longer distances though, you're kind of stuck to the seat without much shuffle-ability as the feet-forward thing doesn't let your legs take your weight, even temporarily. Don't get me wrong, a couple of hours and it's fine, but you do need to stop and put your feet down every now and again. Handling-wise, a bit more forward planning required. They will go round corners, but much prefer the long straights... How far away does the garage... I mean mother-in-law... live? Is there a bit of spare room in there?
  3. Hi, welcome to the madhouse Keep us posted on the bike selection.
  4. @Grumpy Old GitNice work sir! Aren't you darn sarf somewhere? Quite a trek.
  5. MOT passed for another year on the Tiger Explorer. Just over 13k miles since the last one. Booked it in for a valve clearance check next week.
  6. I had the opposite problem on the Tiger Explorer: main beam but no dip. My problem was one of the connectors hidden under the tank was gummed up and needed cleaning.
  7. North Wales #3 - Cors Dyfi North Wales #5 - Fairbourne Railway North Wales #10 - Pont Minllyn North Wales #11 - The Sarn (Mrs. Fiddlesticks recommends the Jack & Coke) North Wales #12 - Sweetlamb Motorsport Complex North Wales #14 - Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway
  8. WEIRD AND WONDERFUL... Due to my unique numbering system, I have these down as: Weird and Wonderful #11 - Welsh Wooden Toll Bridges Although there are two separate bridges here, I would not be so greedy (or unimaginative) as to try to claim points on both. Part of the weirdness is in finding two wooden toll bridges just a few miles apart. The wonderful thing is that motorcycles can be ridden across the Barmouth Bridge (albeit with some disapproving stares). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barmouth_Bridge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penmaenpool
  9. AWS? https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/WebsiteHosting.html
  10. All the best with it. Will be nice to get the L Plates off.
  11. Traffic was backing up on my usual route, so took the back roads and ended up at J&S. Well, it would be rude not to pop in, wouldn't it? It made for an expensive detour, but at least now I have bike trainers that have more structural rigidity than a wet lettuce.
  12. Possibly check back regularly for cancellations? It does seem a bit mad though.
  13. Punishment should be to fire them from a cannon at a brick wall with their own product for protection.
  14. @RideWithStyles it's up above Burnley, Lancashire. You could actually ride down the footpath right up to it but I'm not such a hooligan. Ye, it's a bit eerie, but less so than all those windmills around that area. Replying on here as t'other thread is just for the pics.
  15. I pay £6 a month for a virtual private server from a company that can't even sort out the SSL on their own website. Runs an out of date version of Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, and a Postfix mail server (for my sins). Let's Encrypt handles the Certficates so that's all free and works to secure both web and email. It confuses companies when they ask for my email address and I give them one with their company name in it. The logic being - if everyone gets their own I can tell who's been selling my details on to spam lists and kill that particular address. Really should get the whole thing upgraded, but there's no option to do it in situ, so it's a case of building from scratch and migrating.
  16. Just another steady commute in to work today. Filtered past a police van to skip a queue to the main roundabout in Knutsford. No reason not to, but there's always the chance someone could take offence. Bike is sounding a bit rattley / raspy on the left side at 4,000 revs - almost like when kids used to put tags on their bicycle spokes. (Showing my age now). Barely perceptible, and maybe just a cable/connector rattling against a bodywork panel but... Will keep an ear open for it on the way home. Old bikes. Who'd have one?
  17. North West England #12 - Turton Tower North West England #13 - Windmill Animal Farm
  18. https://youtube.com/shorts/ys6EUL3xgCI?feature=share Weird & Wonderful #7 - The Singing Ringing Tree
  19. Have you tried calling them to explain? It's clearly a bit of an edge case.
  20. Weird. What does it say on the back? For cars, mine has a B, followed by a car icon, the date I passed my test and the expiry date. For bikes, it has an A followed by the bike icon and a different pass date, but the same expiry date. Either Admiral have misunderstood the fact that it's a full bike licence but only a provisional car licence, or the DVLA have screwed something up.
  21. Agreed - road markings say both lanes are for straight on. Road sign says straight on is your exit. If a car wants to go straight on in the RH lane then he should take the right lane off as well, unless the left is clear and he wants to slide back over. Clearly if you're already there then it's not clear. As long as you're not zipping up the inside of him or indicating right then it's hard to see that you're doing anything wrong.
  22. I always give my size 62 N100-5 two clicks over the neck tube. One would probably do it but I'm a bit OCD about it being on the last notch
  23. Hi
