  4. Loosen the bottom yoke clamp bolts, bounce the front end and do the pushbike thing to straighten it, retighten the clamp bolts. If this doesn't work, may have to loosen mudguard bolts as well.

Take the old one out of the battery box. There's a number on it. Quote that when you order a new one. Or just Google it like you're expecting us to do for you?
  6. Yep, washer goes on sump nut. I usually clean all the oil off the nut and sump thread, then smear a bit of silicone sealant on the threads, for a 100%seal. Why did they tell you to look at the jets? Do you have a workshop manual?
  7. Run 13, you're obviously too intelligent for this site and us numpties. Let us know how you get on and how much money you save. Good luck.
  8. Matching panniers are a good idea. Less hassle and more value when you sell the bike.,
  9. Can't be a perfect bike Bob? You still ride a Triumph!!!
  10. DO NOT BUY IT IF ITS TOO TALL FOR YOU. If you keep dropping it, you won't ride it.

Thanks for your reply to my offer of help.
  12. Yeah, after, 2000 tomorrow. I have a machine for lapping valves in.
  13. Could prv be passing Neil?
  14. If you're handy or skint, you can make your own using plastic milk cartons, cable ties and gaffer tape.
  15. Gimme a bell when you have time mate.
  16. Also check the shraeder valve underneath the red pressure vessel. If you press the centre of the valve and get water out, the bladder is leaking.
  17. Put each valve in the valve guide with about 25mmabove the seat. Wiggle valve side to side in the guide to check for ovality. Tolerance will be in manual.
  18. Check the piston to bore clearances and put petrol in the ports to check valve sealing. Clean everything to a high polish.

  21. Good for you for doing it yourself and well done for asking. Were always here to help. Dumb questions better than dumb accidents.
  22. A lot of old plumbing parts still available via eBay.
  23. I assume you mean the nut at the end of the brake rod and the rear brake lever arm on the hub? A picture would be helpful? When you pull the wheel back with the chain adjusters, it also pulls the rear brake hub back and reduces the amount of free play on the rear brake. If you adjust the chain, then tighten the rear spindle nut, you should check the amount of free play that remains. If you need more, just turn the nut anticlockwise 1/2 or a full turn.
  24. Replace original auto tensioner with a manual one. Much more reliable and better for racing. Get a leakdown test done on the engine.
