  1. What Matty said. I use a G clamp, not expensive, to push em in.
  2. I'd like to join you when the route gets close to me, but not sure I can keep up with you road rocketeers?
  3. I know you,re in Ashford ,Surrey. I offered, because I can sort it and you,re not on the other side of the world.
  4. The oil viscosity will affect the speed that the forks compress and rebound, not necessarily the softness of the ride. Add the same weight oil to reduce the airgap and increase the spring stiffness. You could add spacers to the top of the springs, but if you get em too long the fork springs will coil bind and they could throw you off the bike. I could sort it for you, but I'm near Hastings.
  5. Try putting more oil in, about 30ccs in each. It will decrease the air gap and stiffen the springing.
  6. Wished I could join you Moo, but I promised zxrjeff that we,d service his 750 and fit a jet kit today. I never let my customers down.
  7. You guys will be welcome at my place for a brew, if you get far enough south?

    oil change query

Don,t use flushing oil in a bike. Never needed it. Get engine fookin hot, drain oil for an hour, change oil filter, pour new oil in until fresh, clear oil drains out of sump bolt hole, refit bolt, fill with oil. If you,re worried about crud in engine. Remove sump plate and oil pickup from under gearbox. Clean crud, if any, from oil pick up and inside of sump plate. Replace sump plate and change oil.
  9. Loads of good roads in that area , apart from gravel everywhere at moment. A264 is a crackin road, but probs busy on a Saturday. B roads probably best. Isn't A25 busy and heavily policed Joe? Shiiiiittt, just remembered, got a ZXR750 to service on Saturday. Bugger
  10. Yeah, that was close. Should be OK for saturday then.
  11. Not sure I can keep up with you Phil.
  12. Was a good afternoon wasn't it? Glad you two road rocket riders didn't get bored following an old fart on a cruiser. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-09/IMAG2809_zpsqzu9pwbs.jpg
  13. May see you there Bob. If I can do it, I,m sure an old fart like you can. Fancy making a weekend of it?
  14. I'll be there at 1600 or earlier if anybody local to me wants a rideout first. Yes Phil, all the map coordinates I've posted are for the services at the end of the Pembury bypass, at Kippings cross. Used to be the Blue boys cafe, but shut now.
  15. So you are thinking of scrapping an engine because you sheared an exhaust stud and cracked a small piece of alloy off the head? Sheash!!! Do you have a lot of cash to throw away?
  16. It's only 90 mins from Colchester? https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Co ... ls&t=m&z=9
  17. I have a double cigarette lighter socket on mine to power sat nag and phone charger. Always fit an inline fuse and carry spares. I have a screen on my cruiser and stick sat nag on that, but a waterproof case may be better. Some probs with seeing screen in cover in bright sunshine though?
  18. I fancy this . Think I might stay overnight somewhere. Anybody fancy a TMBF pi$$ up near the NEC?
  19. A21 from M25 jct 5. Head south on Tonbridge bypass, then Tunbridge Wells/Pembury bypass. At end of bypass is a roundabout at Kippings cross and the left at next roundabout to BP/M&S services. I'll be in shop drinking coffee. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Blue+B ... 0&t=m&z=15
  20. You'll be very welcome Glorian. A 600 Bandit will be perfect on these roads and I'm not that fast through the corners.
  21. Have you looked at the front sprocket yet?
  22. Buy s set of carbs with heaters fitted? Sell yours after.
  23. We'll see if you can keep up on my local roads.
  24. That's Ok Phil , I can make Kippings cross for 1600. I'll be on a black Yamaha Midnight Star cruiser. I'm a short fat northerner with no social skills.
