  1. I still have most of a spare RRW Blade trackbike in pieces, a good spare 919cc engine, a very wide rear wheel and tyre and I fancy running some fast 1/4miles WITHOUT tuning the engine. Just a very light, reliable bike, blueprinted standard cams and one of my race exhaust systems. Having the lathe makes things easier and quicker. Wish I had money and room for a small miller. Serious man porn. The lathe cost £250 by the way Thanks Fozzie, loving retirement, hate DIY, slowly learning how to TIG weld and doing a lot of stainless and exhaust jobs. The guy is moving to Spain asap, selling up and leaving everything else with me or the tip. I went down there, Hastings on New Years day, he showed me around and said "well , whadya want", I drew breath and said EVERYTHING.
  2. Emptied a former trike builders workshop and garage. Lathe in position , but not bolted down. Also bought engine lift, 185 and 130 amp MIGs, hydraulic bender, turntable, cruiser bike lift, trolley jack, oxy/propane set, drill stand with compound vice for milling, loadsa HT bolts and everything else in his garage. Lathe in position; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/New%20workshop/IMAG1134.jpg Had to move my 6ft by 3ft steel bench by 2ft and all the shelves fell off, garage is a bombsite now. Can't get bike in!!!
  3. Will probs do Brands, Lydden and RAF Odiham if I get the Blade sorted.
  4. Haven't seen an explanation of how that works? ie how you pressurise the dry ice and how you break it up into small enough bits to be able to pressurise it. I certainly wouldn't use it indoors. Soda blasting is a lot safer!!! Just needs a pot of soda powder and a compressor.

    black smoke

Usually it's the valve guide seals that need replacing. Black smoke from an engine is serious! If it keeps doing it , fix it. Never heard of the oil additive.
  6. Heard good things about Soda Blasting.
  7. It's no problem for your CG mate. Give it a good check over first and it won't be a problem.
  8. Probably try and meet you near Southend again Bob

    HELPPPPP!!!

Pop it in the post OJMIT. I'll strip and clean it and tell you what I find?
  10. Matty, I was thinking exactly that as I read Chris's post

    paint

An auto spray shop near me will make up paint to your colour number and put it in aerosol cans for you. Google or Yell.com paintshops in your area?
  12. Do them yerself! Buy a Haynes manual, OEM seals and follow the instructions.
  13. Go on a Bandit Forum or oldskoolsuzuki Facebook page . They will know which one to buy, probably an Earls.
  14. Another top job there mate. Was all that rust just surface? Not structural then ?

    Best oil ?

I doubt it would need fully synth? Semi synth probably adequate and cheaper. Make sure tou buy a motorcycle oil like Halfords own make.
  16. Later this week I will have my own lathe?
  17. That is a special screw because of the flange behind the domed head. I have stainless domed head allen screws. The flange could be made with a suitable length piece of alloy, plastic or stainless tube to prevent crushing and cracking of the fairing plastics. I have various tubes and spacers that could be cut to length to make the flanged section of the bolt. It doesn't need to be a one piece expensive item.

    Oil Leak

Keep us posted mate. Plenty of Bandit bits around.

    Oil Leak

Those Bandit oil cooler connections do rot. Clean everything, remove bolted fittings, check where leak is from. Replace or weld fitting. If you use gunge on it, it will leak again, usually at the worst possible time!!! Don't bodge it!
  20. I make brackets and carriers out of stainless. More difficult to work with than alloy, but stronger and cheaper to weld. Buy alloy off eBay or google a supplier. Make sure you buy the correct grade as some can't be welded and others will crack. I use 304 or 316 stainless which polishes up like chrome. Can sell you some 1.5 or 2mm by 125mm stainless, but not cheap to post. Or I'll make carrier for ya?
  21. You reckon?
  22. Don't take it to a dealer for fixing, untill you know what's wrong with it. They will happily take lots of miney off you. If you can get it down to my place, I will sort it for you?
  23. Could be that the steering is twisted. Just loosen the top yoke and mudguard clamp bolts, bounce the front end and it should come good. Then retighten. No, having a 4 into 1 will not affect the balance or handling.
  24. Why do you think your forks are bent ? Lift front end off the ground, remove front wheel and mudguard, with someone holding handlebars and preload and damping minimised, push each fork upwards and see if it returns smoothly. If not contact Motoliner, they are the best people for straightening. There may be nothing wrong with it!
