1. Happy birthday.
2. I’d be very happy if you did. Told Lewis it was fancy dress...... The look on his face said it all Told him he can go as a Leeds player. I.e wear a Leeds top. Look good for you Beefy on Facebook. Me n me new best mate . A Leeds fan Sorry Westbeef , new idea, I have my Leeds top, I can go as well. That's 2 down and another 9 needed, any volunteers?
3. I am planning on coming as you. So you will still be there not in fancy dress, even if you are the only one in fancy dress.
4. I use a battery pack that I can charge during the day from the bike.
5. Each to their own, but .... until you at rally and it pisses down the entire weekend and blows a gale and yours is the tent which is fine. I would buy the best tent possible unless you know you will only go out in decent weather. If you know you are committed to camping certain weekends and have no idea what the weather will be, I think it is worth investing for once a year. It will still be good in 10 years time (so long you pack it away dry).
6. The Aldi version; https://www.aldi.co.uk/ultra-light-camping-chair/p/083364224516600 £17.99. There was still a couple for sale in my local shop yesterday.
7. I think the secret to camping is to make sure you are comfy, so a tent that has a high HH rating for waterproofness, a decent sleeping mat (the thicker the better), an appropriate sleeping bag for the temperature and a decent pillow.
8. Well, it is not unusual. I struggled and put it down to a general lack of coordination on my part. Riding a bike means doing separate things with each hand and foot and coordinating all four just to stop safely. Some people get it sooner and easier than others. Yes since everyday people manage it without incident. Wait until you go out on your own the first time.... On my CBT not all of us made it past lunch and onto the open road, 2 out of 3 of us made it onto the open road. There is a set format and the instructor has to manage all abilities. I changed riding schools as I was not getting on with an instructor. We met again a few years later when we ended up working in the same place. He told me they were used to people changing schools and accept it as part of the job and understand trainees need to feel comfortable with the instruction.
9. Either trim the foam or go and find trousers that fit. J&S do ladies kit, as do many other places.
10. I have trimmed armour inserts so they fit better. What are the inserts you have made from?
11. Another good ride is up to Aberfoyle and then The Dukes Pass (fun on a 125cc with a queue of cars behind you) and up to Kilmahog, into Callander and back to Aberfoyle.
12. Bike wise, the bucket list would be to ride in the American deserts and to go to Spain.
13. Up Gt Western Rd, stay on the A82 to Tarbet, then go to Arrochar and take the Loch Long road back via Helensburgh and home. That is a good circuit with lots of different road types to practice on.
14. Lochearnhead Scout Station
15. Datatag security marking is a good deterrence for the type of thief who is looking to steal bikes to sell on or strip for parts. The general principle is to make your bike harder to steal that then ones nearby. If there are no other bikes nearby, park somewhere that is more public.
16. I have a denim armoured jacket. My attitude is that the fabric is there to keep the armour in place and that is what will help to protect me. The fabric itself, like mesh, is of limited protection, but by keeping you cool in hot weather, it helps to make you safe whilst riding. I have not come off with the denim jacket, I would expect it to not last and need replacing.
17. Was there any smell from the brake? If not, I think you got away with it, just and if it is working fine, it was brake fade. If there was any smell, you have cooked the pad and should change it. You could change the brake fluid and if it happens again, I would really recommend you let it cool down naturally and not with cold water.
18. At best you are deterring casual theft when parking outside and you do not have space to carry a robust chain. For a small visible lock; https://www.datatool.co.uk/motorcycle-brake-throttle-croc-lock/ You should also consider the visual deterrent of datatag on the bike. A more "professional" thief will realise the bike will be harder to sell on, as a whole or as parts if the bike is security tagged. https://www.datatool.co.uk/datatag-motorcycle-uv-tagging/ More expensive is this; http://roadlok.com/ which is a disc lock that is permanently fitted to the bike and all you carry is pin to lock it.
19. I have lost nearly half a stone in the past three weeks, which I am putting down to working in this weather.
20. Drones with forcefields. And guns. Hate gulls.
21. This Scot who happily supports England (shhhh!) is quietly getting very excited!!!! Like to see - Best England preparation for a World Cup, ever. No stupid stuff about WAGS and drinking etc. Practised penalties. Clearly got a tactic for corners. Would like to see - Danny Welbeck, due to his record of 37 caps and 15 goals, which is a better strike rate than others being used. Someone who can do decent free kicks.
22. Iceland, same population as Aberdeen, are punching even harder than Belgium pound for pound, just for getting to the finals in the first place. Belgium's population is enough that statistically they will produce a load of very good footballers at one time, that time is now. A while back it was the Czech Republic. Then Denmark, same population as Scotland, won the Euros and they are in the next round.
23. I think 5 years is pretty good going and I would not expect to be able to see the original waterproofing deteriorate, just the effect. Spada do some excellent waterproofs.
24. The screw in ground anchor looks quiet good. I am sure it relies on any prospective their not knowing it is just a screw in one and once a chain is through it, that will restrict being able to unscrew it back out of the ground. The chain will twist and jam it. I use this, which is the type of chain you describe and it combines with a disc lock; The only issue may be that the disc lock is too fat to fit through any hole in the disc. I lock mine to a wheel spoke. I would not bother with an alarmed disc lock, they are prone to weather activations. A tracker is a good idea, or Datatag.
25. It is sad that I genuinely have to keep quiet I happily support England I was 7 weeks old when England won the world cup. It was the first TV programme I ever watched, not that I remember any of it! My parents are English, as are most of my relatives, so it is never seemed odd to me to support England, except when they play Scotland.........
