  1. Looks great http://www.cycleworld.com/sites/cycleworld.com/files/styles/large_1x_/public/images/2016/05/2016-yamaha-xsr900-45088.jpg?itok=Y8LUeVs8
  2. If you saw what I saw, you would have stayed well away too. I knew that camping next to a road call Hutmore Butts was a bad idea.
  3. There was neigh way that was going to happen.
  4. My plan would be to ride off and say nothing. But there are loads of you tube videos where that ends up as a chase. If that happened, I would stop and take the confrontation. I think that would be safer, for me anyway
  5. I am a biker and student of Shito Ryu karate. I use advanced riding techniques, as taught when I was in the police. I am now retired, have a secure pension and life in general. I am thankful that somehow, maybe the way I ride defensively and try and keep as much space around me as possible, or I have seen really bad stuff that a minor road traffic matter does not bother me, or I do not care when a motorist blows their horn because I know they got a fright when I suddenly appeared, I have not ended up stopped for a face off with a motorist. Advanced riding is a good thing, but particularly on right hand bends, pulling into the left may create the impression to a motorist behind you that are making space and want them to pass. So a central line is better when a car has caught up and is thinking about passing.
  6. Ten excellent years
  7. I was awakened by donkeys being very noisy. I got up for a pee and saw the donkeys were running around daft and one was trying to mount other donkeys. It is something that I cannot un-see.
  8. Will the donkeys still be there? That late night sex party they had kept me wake.
  9. I ride in what I call the "safety bubble". That is where you are no where near any other driver. Many cars and lorries seem to gather in packs and drive together for some reason. I avoid that and go for the gaps in between them.
  10. How about two lions who happen to be twins?
  11. I have updated it with my tags, do they show up for you?
  12. We must have been photographing them at about the same time! I will update the scores again later, Throttled Jnr wants at least a little more time as top scorer! PS- Throttled Jnr cannot log into the forum, his user name comes up as unrecognised. Can you sort that?
  13. Throttled with Throttled Jnr, The Crown, Anchor, Victoria and Bell (with the Scottish "e") pubs and Scotland Street School.
  14. I am going to do all of the pubs this year, that will take me on some bigger trips.
  15. Some good runs to do with Throttled Jnr and this year I want to go somewhere where I have not been, camp and do that region.
  16. There was something about being allowed onto motorways as well.
  17. I am on the Versys forum, which is excellent for advice, tips, second hand parts and banter. I am also on ADVScotland, a small forum about adventure bike riding in Scotland.
  18. 2017 Challenge Scores This is the running score for the 2017 challenge. It will be updated at least once a month. It is the taking part that counts! It is an excuse to ride and explore, so at least do the tags in your own region of the country. Or if there is a place you always fancied visiting and it is a tag, go and do that one. Use it as an excuse to go to part of the country you have not been to before. Or an excuse to visit a relative or friend you have not seen for a while. You can take part as a pillion rider as well. Happy riding Updates - last updated 05/11/2017 Scoring starts on day one with Stocky picking up ten points. By day three there are seven scorers and Throttled Jnr leads the way, pillions are riders and can score as well! Then Rennie goes and does all the pubs and rockets ahead. The start of February and Mawsley catches up at the top, two sets of pubs have now been completed. JRH takes the lead, GOG rockets into third place and priest starts his years tagging. Still waiting for a region to be completed. Big scoring in March as the two titans of the Challenge get moving and rack up a few hundred points between them. tPIC makes a bid for glory with some big scores. GOG then rockets ahead (did you see what I did there) and there is a three way tie for second place. Some big scores now as areas are completed and the bonus 50 points are added. I do the North of Scotland, first time it has been done in a few years. Summer and the points gathering slows down. GOG suggests it is the heat why people are not out and about,as he extends his lead to 220 points. Oldgrump joins in and rockets into the top 3 places. Stocky moves to number 2 and the man with the rocket just keeps on tagging. I get all the pubs done for the first time. The scoring slows down, which I put down to the very wet summer. Glad to see people are still out picking up points as the clocks go back and it gets noticeably colder. Scores - where points are equal, whoever got to that points total first gets the higher place. 1st - GOG - 880 2nd - Stocky - 700 3rd - oldgrump - 430 4th - priest - 410 5th - JRH - 390 6th - Throttled - 360 7th - Lateralus - 300 " - tPIC - 300 9th - Mawsely - 240 10th - Rennie - 210 11th - CGD217 - 180 12th - Valko - 170 13th - Cougar dave - 160 14th - donald463 - 130 15th - Liveware Problem - 100 16th - Bonniebird - 90 " - Tango - 90 " - bonio - 90 19th - Throttled Jnr - 80 20th - onesea - 70 21st - Jordy92 - 60 22nd - RigsVille - 50 " - Westbeef - 50 " - grunthorpe - 50 " - bonio - 50 26th - Stu - 40 26th - jimmymack - 30 28th - Hoggs - 20 " - markhibberd5 - 20 30th - A Heavy Sake Jar " - Six30 " - Sleepy_RR " - Sussex-Paul " - clasickid21 " - drzhooner " - Glorian " - SuzyHP " - Bikerg93 " - Igloo " - RantMachine " - TimR " - tsurugi-ijin " - Joe85 " - Roxyy " - Ricky " - whitedevil " - Bianco2564 " - ChrisBHull " - Bhawk " - Bianco2564 " - Jordy92 " - mpl " - Martyn850 " - Bigsime " - Deso
  19. I know, but I still laugh at GT and that is why I watch it. When I stop laughing, I'll give up with it.
  20. It is finished as a comedy/challenge car show and should go back to proper reviews of cars people can drive. Just find presenters better than Fifth gear who only found each other funny.
  21. I wonder if there is a function to tell the taxi to stop here so you can get out, if the driver is an idiot or you yo see something you want to stop early for?
  22. It is a Volvo and they have a radar self braking system.
  23. I wish all suicide vests were like that and left the suicide bomber in great pain and thoroughly regretting their actions.
  24. Maybe the passengers had told the computer it would get an extra megabite for getting them to the airport on time.......
  25. That is horrible, I suspect you may have to write them off and go elsewhere. I did use a guy in Kirkintilloch for a while till he disappeared. Then I used a place in Paisley till he chucked it. Then the place in Renfrew has changed hands, but has been fine with both owners. I think the problem is so many motorcycle garages come and go.
