  1. Nice one Steve......be good to catch up with you again mate.....
  2. If the clutch slips with very little pressure on the lever I suspect the plates are worn.......sounds like the clutch in general could do with a look......
  3. Works for us...... Not heard from Neil recently..... Dunno if Darren and Martin would be up for this too? What about you Mr Fro?
  4. 1st of January 2015.......because we like the suspense.....

    Engine Noise CBF250

You've got oil in the engine? Sounds to me like big end bearing noise.....
  8. If the problem only happens when you are going faster I wonder if it's fuel starvation?....blocked fuel tank breather or clogged fuel filter? Try running it down the road again and when it stops open the filler cap and see if you can hear a hiss of air being drawn in......if so, it could be a blocked tank breather.....
  9. Pedestrian should always check when crossing road between parked or stationary traffic......could easily have been a cyclist and not a motorcycle coming through the traffic. So, unless she was crossing at a designated crossing place, she is responsible for the collision. But it does highlight the dangers of filtering.....and you really need to have your wits about you when doing it.....
  10. On some cars the cigarette lighter is switched by a relay......and is only live when the ignition is on. Why not charge it with crock clips on the battery?
  11. Happy Birthday Gill.......hope you have a great day......
  12. Woohoo......result...... Now, will santa be bringing you a nice new shiny bike?......

    Bike wont start

I'm guessing you guys didn't see the post in the Newbies section then?......
  14. Dunno mate......seems that most parts suppliers are saying NGK CR8E plug for your bike......but that one is a CR7......you may need to pull the plug that's on your bike and check the number on it to be sure......
  15. Venhill do cable kits......and they're normally pretty good......

Has the fuel tap got a Prime position?.......could also be sticking floats if it's carbed......give the float bowls a tap with the blunt end of a screwdriver.....
  17. I wouldn't bother trying to clean the one in there......not for the sake of £2.50......
  18. It depends on how much higher they are.......if they are more then an inch or 2 you may need new front brake hoses and possibly new clutch and throttle cables, but you may be able to get away with just rerouting them......
  19. Welcome to TMBF Dan......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can..... I think you're talking about the exhaust header gasket......which normally shouldn't need any exhaust paste..... The bang is unburnt fuel in the exhaust igniting.......so the problem is more about why you're getting unburnt fuel there......which is most likely due to a loss of spark for a bit. Could be a bad spark plug or coil breaking down under load......I'd be changing the plug first and see where you go from there......
  20. Glad it was an easy fix mate.......a lesson learned......
  21. Congrats mate......and good luck for the MOD2......
  22. You're very welcome Alan.......was a really good extended weekend...... We'll invade your place in the spring.....
  23. Anytime Ollie.....you just need to shout.....
  24. Do you want me to come over and take a look Ollie?
  25. Disconnect battery, Remove both handlebar switchgear units. Remove front brake lever and reservoir unit and secure it with string or something so the reservoir doesn't turn upside down and let some air into the lines (very unlikely to happen......but better to be safe.... ) Remove bar end weights. Remove clutch lever and perch. Remove clutch side grip. Undo handlebar clamps Loosen throttle unit and slide it off the end of the bar......but you may need to slide the bar across to the left side of the bike to allow it to clear the end of the bar because of the throttle cable. Refitting is the reverse of this......but.......wrap a single layer of insulation tape round the bar where the switch gear units sit. The switch units may have a small pip on the inside surface that locates them into a hole on the bar to stop them rotating, but the Renthal's won't have the locating holes in them......so, either file the small pip off the inside of the switchgear units, or carefully drill a small locating hole in the new bar in the correct place........me? I filed the pip off the switchgear unit..... Make sure that the front brake hose is not tight......and the clutch and throttle cable routing are ok and you can turn the bars lock-to-lock without the revs going up or the clutch cable pulling and causing the clutch free play to disappear.....
